As I'm performing my Morning Coffee chatter here at work in Tejas.. Mostly with Big 12 sandlots..  Baylor and Texas A&M scrum..

I tell them WITHOUT a doubt.  2nd and less than 1..

We know what the HOGS would have done.

[RUN THE BALL]

Great thing is Every HOG Fan and opponent knows it as well.

Jim Chaney may have called a tight end reverse.  :)

I wouldn't be so sure, since we had Jim Chaney. I don't put anything past him. Thankfully he's gone.

converting them next year will be a plus. 3rd and 4th and short runs not converted cost the hogs a few times this past season.
This is fun, isn't it.

Exactly.  For all the size our OL had, we did surprisingly poorly in many short yardage situations.  For all of the "feel good" in the Bowl win over Texas, one thing that bothered me was that we had a first and goal at the one and very nearly did not get in with four straight runs.  Ultimately, we got bailed out on a failed 4th down because Texas lined up offside - and then on "5th" down we barely got in.

So, I'm not sure that we wouldn't have taken the same strategy as the Seahawks did, given the same situation.  Probably would have depended on our earlier success in that game running the ball.

Predictability in play-calling has been proven to not be a successful approach over and over again at Arkansas and in the NFL. The real goal is to be able to run, but not necessarily to do it.

So the Seahawks proved it.  Now the question is are we more like Ditka or Chuck Norris?
