Worthless question about 1990 Arkansas-Texas game

Picture it.  Lee Mayberry is called for a foul with about 12 seconds left.  This is when Nolan leaves the bench and heads to the locker room.  He is walking from right to left on your television screen, walking past Tom Penders, who is waving furiously to the other end of the court where the free throws will be taking place, trying to get the officials' attention.  Mays misses the last free throw and Texas leads by three.  Mayberry comes down the court and hits the famous 3 at the buzzer to send the game to overtime, in front of the Texas bench.  Nolan returns and we go on to win in overtime.

My question is why were the teams shooting in the 2nd half in front of the other team's bench?  As long as I can remember watching, playing and coaching, teams always play offense in front of their bench in the 2nd half.  Think about all of the games you have watched on television from Barnhill, Bud Walton, etc.  I can't think of one example where this is not the rule that was followed, except this game.  When I proofread my work, I always overlook the most obvious mistakes...what am I overlooking in this situation?

I hate Texas.  It's the middle of summer.  Any help?

I just realized that US Reed hit the shot vs. Louisville in Austin in 1981, and was shooting on that same goal, opposite our bench.  Is it a Frank Irwin Center house rule?
My favorite sports team is superior to your favorite sports team.

I believe it is the visiting team's choice which end to take.  For some reason, Arkansas must have chosen to flip the ends.  We did it once in high school just to mess with the other team and  throw them out of their usual routine.

Yeah.  You'll see Michigan State, Duke, and rarely Kentucky do the same, now.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."
