DVH’s interesting postgame comment

Dave was thrilled by Gage Wood's performance today and suggested that he is in the mix to be a starter. Pressed further to explain what he meant, he said that he is in the running to take the spot held by one of the starters. If you listen to the interview, it appears he is thinking about Wood possibly taking Molina's spot.
I don't see it unless he thinks Wood might be an opener ala Tampa Bay and have him pitch 3 innings or so before giving way to another pitcher.
It was an interesting comment, maybe it was just to get Molina fired up and not complacent? I just can't see Wood being the number 3 starter but you never know.

Thought he was talking about Tygart's spot actually.  Tygart gave up six runs today, probably not all his fault but still.  Could see next weekend the starting rotation change to Smith ( Friday ), Molina ( Saturday ), and Wood ( Sunday )
