Let's make some waves.

That was a pretty exciting game last night, especially from an ATS point of view.  The momentum swings kept me guessing.  The first minute looked like it would be a blow out, the next 28 minutes, it looked like KS would impose it's style of play and cover, the last minute of the first half ... not so much.  Even late in the second half, I was starting to get a glimmer of hope that KS would close it to an 8 point gap (so that I could collect on both sides of my hedged bet).  Fun game to watch!

Huckleberry Pig

sportsbook has a&m down to -3 now.  really wanna play this game and am leaning toward a&m but don't know if i'll pull the trigger (which probably means I shouldn't lol).  OU has the 2nd best pass eff. D in the nation so that kinda scares me.  Also when was the last time OU was a dog in a bowl game... What are ya'lls thoughts?

Under 73 tonight 10 unit dime play.

like it that much huh

edit: I like it too, gonna take it.

DadVader1

I'm following leads from here for tonight so have:

A&M -3 (5 units)
under 73 (5 units)
parlay of these two for 1 unit

What makes y'all like the under? I think it's at a pretty tough spot because you have to assume each team will score at least 4 touchdowns.

74 is a lot of points. I like the under due to the long layoff and aTm having a new playcaller.  Oklahoma has played two top 10 teams they scored 13 and 19 points.  aTm has played two top 10 teams they scored 29 and 19.

exactly, their ppg are both very high but they are largely inflated to games against sub-par talent.  10 TDs and a FG would have to be scored in order for this game to go Over.  With two quality teams, I just don't see that happening.  Also, OU has the 2nd best pass eff D in the nation.  should help them keep manziel on the ground a bit more.

I could be wrong, but with long layoffs offenses often times tend to be a bit sluggish.  Hell they may score a combined 120 for all I know, but only takes one team sputtering a bit to throw that off.  Would take 10 T.D's 10 made extr Poibts and a field goal to push the total. Yes special teams and short field turnovers could hurt the under, but that's the way I am betting.

Every day I hachanged my mind about which team to bet. Sooo I an just betting the total tonight.
Let's make some waves.

widespreadsooie

I'll probably take the under too. Maybe in a parlay with A&M.

widespreadsooie

I played them separately. Got the under at 72 though.

I also played a couple of prop bets for the first time.

Total score between 64-70 +500
OU wins by 7-10 +1000

I took the OU moneyline, so we'll see how it plays out. Just don't think it comes down to a FG.

Huckleberry Pig

wish they hadnt scored THAT fast.  should settle down a bit though.  hopefully

WILL CLINTON

Added OU +2 and under 35 in the 2nd half. parlay and straight up.

Tailed your under and glad for it.

I followed BOTH of your leads tonight & am very glad I did so.  We all develop our own test/systems/hurdles.  Just because a game doesn't fit MY criteria doesn't mean I pass on it.  Tonight's game didn't clear all of my own internal hurdles, but I'm a big believer in listening to others whom I've grown to trust over time, and I'm profiting from following your leads. You guys ROCK!  Hopefully, my game-picking skills will get good enough to return the favors. Thanks again for teaching & sharing!

Hooch

I really like Pitt tomorrow, prob my favorite of last week.

widespreadsooie

Some solid people I follow are on Pitt, but I like Ole Miss. Going with the Rebs tomorrow.

Jeff "hogfanintx" Anderson

I'm gonna go back and clean up my mini rant above.  It was really not directed at anyone here.

Had a buddy call me a few weeks back and ask about a specific NFL game he wanted to play. I told him I didn't like the game either way ad wouldn't touch it.  I had no lean either way an told him this. He said if you had to pick one. Told him I was going to flip a coin. Guess he didn't believe me, but I did and game him a team. Obviously the team lost.

This same knucklehead called before last nights game wanting to know who I liked. Told him the under, and that I liked it a lot. So he stars badgering me to pick the winner.  Told him I had flip flopped on it too many times. He then wanted a big explanation as to why I liked the under.

So I apologize for not being clear in my little tantrum above that it was not directed at anyone here. Was me venting about a moron I have known forever.
Let's make some waves.

Hooch

going all dogs today.

Houston is choking, Cinci has won like 7 of 8 and that one by 1 pt.  Cincy +5

Green Bay can't stop the run Minn has the best RB in football, still think GB will probably win but going  Vikes +8.5

Pitt has played some really good teams really close Louisville, ND, they beat Rutgers and Va tech.  Lets be honest Miss is bad should not be bowling beat us, auburn and Miss St.  going Pitt +3.5

widespreadsooie

OM also gave A&M and LSU a run for their money.

collin cowherd also likes Cincy +5, the Houston D has not been the same since Cushing got hurt.  The Bengals have a very solid secondary and a surprisingly good DL.  And you're right, Cincy is hot coming into this game, like them +5 as well.

widespreadsooie

Ray Graham is out for Pitt. Liking OM even more now. Don't play NFL often, or hardly ever, but tailed Cowherd on the Bengals and Packers.

Huckleberry Pig

btw Jeff thanks for the tip on the under, payed off pretty good.  Wouldn't have looked at it had you not mentioned it and knowing that it was a dime play for you gave me a lot of confidence in playing it.  Appreciate it!

No problem...I've kinda wondered about betting etiquette on here. Obviously, if I'm copying someone's picks, I'm not complaining afterwards if they blew arse that weekend. This is kinda obvious, since it was my choice to copy them. And I'm certainly not going to question them about the pick.

But if copying someone's picks, should you post that on here (and I don't mean just 1 of their picks, but all their picks verbatim)?

Pros of posting the deed:  it is a compliment to copy someone's picks and let them know it.
Cons of posting the deed:  that person being copied put all the work in, maybe they don't want it put in their face that their picks are being copied. It is coattail riding.

* Full disclosure -- I sometimes copy verbatim, b/c I suck at betting. But I don't always know if that person minds or will get pissed about my stealing their work.

I am playing cincy +4.5 / 5 units
Green Bay -7 / 5 units.  bought the hook

not touching pitt / ole piss.  I am kinda a Pitt fan and hope they win, but not confident enough to bet either team

what the heck I have been on a massive roll.

pitt + 3.5 / 3 units

Let's make some waves.

Huckleberry Pig

taking Bengals @ +4 and Vikings @ +8, both 2 unit plays (don't like putting too much on NFL).

Also did a $10 parlay with Bengals +4, Vikings +8, and Ole Miss -4 (Graham being out had me take OM here, thanks for that update widespread).  will win $60 if i hit.

Good luck gents

DadVader1

I went all dogs today too. None of them are strong leans so I'm sticking with 1 unit or less (except that I took Cincy +4.5 for 2 units).

Jeff "hogfanintx" Anderson

Lol that's what I get for betting with my heart. Should have left that game alone.

I left the Pitt and Miss game alone, those teams were way to unpredictable for me.

Not gonna lie though, I'm tailing EVERY NFL play you post or text me. I don't follow it enough to know jack about it, so you are the man as far as my NFL action goes.

Huckleberry Pig

Did the Bengals know they were supposed to bring an offense?

Huckleberry Pig

or that you're supposed to try to hit the QB, schaub has ALL DAY to throw

WILL CLINTON

Just saw where Christian Ponder is out for the Vikes and the backup hasn't thrown a pass all year or something. thinking of doubling up on the Pack and throwing a lil down on the over.

Dalton missed a few very big throws.  Then why throw to anyone not beyond the first down marker on 4th.

Oh well they had their chances.

Webb can't be worse than Ponder, right? Frankly he'll probably be an improvement.

My thought at the time was why not go for the FG, then try to play the toughest defense you have all day and get another drive to tie.

but throwing a 6 yd in when you need 11 for the 1st was a dumass move.
