Watching the Texas High School state championship games today.  The Pittsburgh, Texas HC was part of the "between games crew" and he was asked about one of his WR, Keontae Burns.  The coach stated he took calls from Morris and some other Power 5 HC with offers yesterday for Burns.

He's a 247Sports 3*, 6'3", 175 lb Jr.

Just saw a couple of  really good high school LB from Carthage, Tx.  Ahmad Brown 6' and 225 and Mykel Gates 6'1" 221.  Both could run and were furious hitters.  Brown has no offers, Gates best offer is the Red Wolves.  Grades maybe.

CCM stated yesterday that he does not recruit players on stars.  He evaluates and recruits on the players on skills and potential.  This player fits the mold.
"On the Eighth Day, God created the Razorbacks!"

Pittsburg TX had a pretty good wide receiver a few years ago that's been in the league for 5 years: Kendall Wright.

we sill see more offers to Texas players this coming month 2018 and 2019 prospects

On ESPN's site it has Keontae Burns listed as running a 4.8 forty.  That was his Jr. year though.  He might get faster.

Still looks like a promising WR.

And those two usually correlate to stars.  Semantics.

Yes, and so was Otha Peters (who could never get of the field for Bielema) and Martrell Spaight, (not recruited by Petrino), both 6'.  Now, both are on the Redskins' roster.

But, you're right, that the reason lots of players are not offered.

Well, if he is a 4.8 guy, Morris has to know that won't cut it in the SEC.  There are lots of TEs that have better speed than that.  And most certainly, CB, S, and LBs the Razorbacks compete against.

Jerry Rice ran a 4.8...

There's sprint speed and there's game speed. Sprinters run really fast in a straight line. Game speed involves getting in and out of cuts and using your body to get open.  Game speed is what's most important, though you don't pass up a 4.2 guy if he comes along.

And Tom Brady could barely run a 40 and was a string bean looking back up at best..Now look. Star ratings make me wanna puke :puke:...you can't measure heart, grit, will, determination, fortitude etc.  I wish all the so  called experts would one time tell the truth.  We have had some very highly rated players that couldnt play dead because they had no will to put in the work and be great..however i understand you cant make a thoroughbred out of a mule and cant just have  a team of walkons either...see BB.  It takes a keen eye and some research to evaluate that mixture of talent/character..hopefully coach M has it

No Rice ran a 4.6 and very seldom got run down from behind for some reason.
