As a kid, you couldn't wait for Dave Campbell's Arkansas Football magazine to come out.  It was the first sure sign that football season was approaching, and it was always great to read stuff about your high school in the back section of the magazine.

You aren't kidding. Sometimes you see a big school with very little information, then you will have some small Western Arkansas HS where the town is fired up and apparently buys adds.

As a kid, you couldn't wait for Dave Campbell's Arkansas Football magazine to come out.  It was the first sure sign that football season was approaching, and it was always great to read stuff about your high school in the back section of the magazine. 

I grew up in South Florida. Coming back to Arkansas every summer for a week or so, I was always excited to find Dave Campbell's at the City Drug Store here in Jonesboro.

Hooten's overpriced rag is no Dave Campbell's.

Dave Campbell's was the best for SWC write ups but his write ups for Arkansas High Schools were very limited. Hooten's does a better job in that area.

I'm sure they do, but back in the late '70s it was super cool for a rising high school senior to see his name in the back of such a prestigious magazine, even if his team was picked next to last in the conference (yet ended up winning it).
