Still holding out hope after Jamall Walker choose to stay at Illinois?
No. I think Walker stays at Illinois and so does Tilmon.  Mark Smith is 50-50 with Mizzou and Illinois.

Look for a lot of chatter coming out of Florida regarding a Kevin Knox, 6'8, 5*, who said he wanted to play with Porter but didn't want to go to UW.  Plus another 4* guard who decommitted from UW.

Lots of things going on. None may materialize but it's at least in the works.

Worse case is that Mizzou goes from one 4* recruit to best case two 5* and three 4* guys.

Mizzou only has one to give but with a coaching change, Cuonzo will have as many as he needs.

Actually in this situation it is great Economics. Porter will put butts in seat. Something Mizz hasn't had in 3 years
Exactly.  First game is home against Iowa State and with Porter being the local kid, it will be sold out. That arena hasn't been sold out in over 3 years.  Plus, I've been told, season tickets have already skyrocketed. Already.

It's a HUGE get.  Now, how ill it turn out?  I have no idea but the excitement is back.

Forget to mention. If younger brother Jontay classes up, he could also join.  He's ranked like 38, 4* and is 6'10.  He is serious thinking about that.  But if he doesn't, Porter says there's nothing stopping him from coming back for a second year.

Can't wait to watch gafford and porter jr go against each other.  Gafford has been so underrated, maybe that will give him an opportunity to finally garner some national respect.

Great player but hiring the  father of one-and-done is neither smart nor good economics.

The guy has plenty of coaching bona fides, and did a pretty damn fine job coaching his daughters and sons. About the only requirement for being an assistant is (1) knowing someone and (2) ideally having D1 college ball experience. Porter, Sr., has both, plus coaching experience and ties to Columbia. It's not like Mizzou hired a truck driver and made him an assistant basketball coach.

That may be.

Should be a good match up.
