I don't have a problem with them, but why is Clemson such a media darling?  They're the OU of the ACC.

Not for nothing, but every team on this list not named Ohio St has ZERO chance of winning the 2015 national championship.

Now, the 2016 national championship, that's another matter.

If I were going to pick the championship game - it would be tOSU vs. USC or Baylor/TCU vs. USC. With USC winning the championship.  If the odds still hold, when I am in Vegas in July - I will put $100 on USC and maybe $100 on Clemson.

Based purely on feeling - I think USC will make a splash this year. Three of the four games they lost were by a touchdown or less and the PAC-12 is getting a lot of positive press (above and beyond Oregon).

I also believe that either the ACC or the SEC WILL NOT be in the playoff.  Baylor/TCU (Big-12) will get a lot of love, because of the perception that they were handled poorly last year - even though it turned out that OSU was the best team (hands down - when it counted).

Below predictions based on heart - with the exception of tOSU (they will walk through their schedule).

PAC-12 Champ - USC
BIG-10 Champ - tOSU
Big-12 Champ - TCU
ACC/SEC Champ - Clemson/Georgia

I like Clemson because of their coach, the biggest hurdle for Clemson is also the reason I like them - Coach Swinney.  I've had the opportunity to meet him and listen to him speak - he is a great guy.

I don't totally disagree with you Hollywood, but wasn't that the consensus about Ohio State going into last season after the Miller injury? I think TCU and Georgia have a ton of value there.

I'd be the homer and bet 50 on that just for the hell of it at 38/1 and a smaller bet on Bama just for the safer side. With what we have returning, this season is about the best chance to do this kind of bet.

Put that grand on them and turn it into almost 3 grand if your that confident.
Wouldn't it be great if the hogs played OSU for the NC. WPS

The same QB at Auburn that torched us for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12-16 passing in the first half only last year? Believe it or not, Auburn got an upgrade at QB in losing Marshall. They have a real threat to pass this year. Johnson makes me more nervous than Marshall.

Our defense is a lot different as in better than it was when we opened to Auburn last season.

It goes a lot deeper than just a QB. Player suspensions, dismissals, and RB depth come to mind, and if you are Bama you better have a stable of horses for RB's. Sure they still have Henry and Drake but after that who?

I just don't see them being that good next year.

Yes he did, our D looked the most disjointed in that game over any other game. BTW, we were tied at the half when he pulled Johnson and put in Marshall. I don't think Johnson will be near the running threat Marshall was.

I don't think Kiffin wants to win with a stable full of horses at rb. My hope is there is not a qb able to play as well as Simms did. Kiffin gets antsy like he did against Ohio State insisting that he win his way. Saban wants to ground and pound not air it out. There is meltdown weekly on the Bama sideline on the way to a five loss season ( one being Arkansas). A guy can dream right?

In 2016, Clemson will be a serious contender.

Not for sure how Clemson's Offense is supposed to be defended in 2016.  It will probably have a 5 Star ranked QB who probably will be a main Heisman Trophy candidate, a 5 Star ranked Running Back, a 5 Star ranked Wide Receiver, and a 5 Star ranked Left Offensive Tackle.

On Defense, they will have a 5 Star ranked Defensive Tackle who wreaked havoc in this just past Under Armor week, and a 5 Star Cornerback (a Redshirt Junior) who may be the best cover Corner in the nation in 2016.  Not to mention a Defensive End who has already been compared to their last All-American Defensive End, Da'Quan Bowers.

Great job of scheduling there Auburn.  I presume it shouldn't be a surprise since we are talking about a School whose fanbase throws toilet paper into trees, and a School who can't figure out what is their mascot (is it a Tiger or a War Eagle?).

Totally disagree.  Johnson will be very good but is not the run threat that Marshall was.  I think Marshall was one of the best read option QBs I have ever seen.  And he was blazing fast.  Malzahn likes to run the read option and Johnson will do it but not as effectively as Marshall.

I know what you mean but it's the 2014 season and to me that means the 2014 championship, not 2015.  When we say a team won the championship a certain year we usually refer to the regular season, not the January afterwards.  Like the Hogs won in 1964 for example!

No, in fact we do not.

We won the 1964 national championship sir, because it was awarded PRIOR to the bowl seasons. None of the games counted towards that championship were played after Dec 31, 1964 . As opposed to today, when the national championship is awarded AFTER the bowl season (in point of fact our particular situation in 1964 is what changed the way the national champion was voted on in 1965 when they started awarding it AFTER the bowl season) and from that point on they actually refer to them as the year in which they were actually awarded.

Now you know.

OK.  Bad example.  But you are still wrong.  We won the FBWAA Nat Championship because they voted after the bowls while the AP voted before and named Bama the champion.  And yes, they did change the process after that which makes sense.  Being an ND fan I can tell you they won the national championship in 1988 even though the Bowl game was played in January 1989.  Ask their fans what season they last won the championship and they will say 1988, not 1989.  Ask an Auburn fan when they won the national championship and they will say 2010 not 2011.

I don't disagree with your assessment, but remember that this is a list of likelihood of winning the NC, not a list of best teams in order.  OU, for example would be way down the list or not even on it if they were in the SECW.
