Chris Beard, reportedly one of the top candidates — if not the main choice — for the men's basketball head coach opening at Arkansas, is reportedly out of the mix. Beard is opting to stay at Ole Miss, according to Jeff Goodman.

Beard came to Ole Miss ahead of the 2023-24 season after he was fired at Texas for allegedly choking his fiancee.

After Eric Musselman decided to jet from Arkansas to become the next head coach at USC, many theorized Chris Beard was one of the top candidates.

However, water was doused on that fire on Friday, as Beard will be staying in Ole Miss, first reported by Jeff Goodman. Afterwards, Beard made a post on X, letting Rebels fans know he would remain in Oxford moving forward

Belmont transfer forward Malik Dia commits to Ole Miss

Belmont transfer forward Malik Dia has committed to Ole Miss, he told On3.

The 6-foot-9 sophomore averaged 16.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game this season in 23.2 minutes of action per outing.

Dia, a native of Murfreesboro.

Barnes commits to Ole Miss

Ole Miss has landed a huge pick up out of the transfer portal as Davon Barnes of Sam Houston State has committed to the Rebels.

Barnes averaged 13.5 points per game.

Report: Seton Hall transfer Dre Davis commits to Ole Miss

Louisville and Seton Hall wing Dre Davis has committed to Ole Miss out of the NCAA transfer portal, per ESPN.

Davis entered the portal after completing his fourth season at the college level, having split his time between Louisville and Seton Hall. He's coming off the best season of his career.

As a senior in 2023-24, Davis averaged 15.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per game. He was likely on the cusp of earning All-Big East honors
