South Carolina: The Gamecocks have their first major scrimmage of the spring Monday, and it's a good bet that new linebacker Jasper Brinkley is going inflict some pain on the offense.

Brinkley, the younger of a set of twins signed by Steve Spurrier, has been hitting the offensive players so hard in the spring that Gamecocks coaches have asked him to take it easy. Spurrier said of the 6-2, 250-pound Brinkley, "We've got to slow him down some." Spurrier said. "He looks like those linebackers that play at Georgia and Tennessee."
