A significantly large faction of Razorback fans have often become "bummed out" by seemingly inexplicable early-season football miseries, -
- - the stumble, fart-and-fall fiascoes which have been notes of special interest over the past two seasons, especially.  Apparently, consistency and continuity are hard to come by these days.

Suppose that a fellow should venture deep into the deer woods and set up camp in late afternoon in preparation for going hunting very early the following morning.  Further suppose that Mother Nature should issue an urgent call for that fellow to relieve himself, prompting him to scurry 100 yards away from his encampment to do his serious business, and that as he is laboriously engaged in his bowel evacuation, a disturbed, very aggressive-prone Grizzly should suddenly materialize directly in front of him.  At that juncture, It would do no good whatsoever for that seasoned hunter to wish that he had brought along his hunting rifle - - resting securely back at his camp some 100 yards distant from his present position.

In the game of life - - as in the game of football, - - proper attention to detailed preparations for unexpected contingencies is crucial to success.  Whatever assets one might have to draw upon, those assets are essentially impotent and useless if they are left back at camp - - - - or on the practice field.

I'm hoping and praying that the Hogs don't go bear hunting with a switch this season.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.
