Calling All Hogs

In before someone points out Thor was never the God of hammers. He was the God of lighting. The hammer was used only to focus his power.

Lol. It would make a great CCM hammer down gif. The other soldiers are even in kind of a "spread" formation. :) Devicehigh is the only one I know with the skills to pull off putting a CCM face on Thor.

was there ever a God of Hammers?  why even post that?  #inbeforeThorTheGodofRedCapes?  by the way Thor is not the god of red capes, he just uses it to focus his fashion sense.

Honestly,  it was a little goofy for my taste.

But it was popular, so I'm sure they're not losing sleep over my opinion.

I enjoyed "Thor: Ragnorok."  It is really funny and really entertaining.  My biggest issue with it though was it didn't really have any emotional resonance.  The few times where there is a scene with emotional significance, it fell just flat for me; or they quickly jumped to a joke that nulled any effect it could have had.  Contrast that with "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" which has great themes regarding family, friendship, and redemption and "Thor: Ragnorok" is just not as good (in my opinion).

Beyond that, it is a good film and still worth watching if you enjoy the genre.

Haha!  I didn't know there was a Thor cartoon, that's awesome!

Growing up for me (I'm 33), I was huge on Batman: The Animated series, Spider-man, and the X-Men.  All three of those shows were on Fox Kids; and they were amazing.

Yep in the 1960's there was Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, The Invincible Iron Man, The Mighty Thor, Prince Namor the Sub-Mariner and  Spider-Man  Google them, they each had their own theme music.

Everyone knows which Thor we are talking about, except maybe you. Get out of the library and go watch a Marvel flick.

Digging all the excitement, but has everyone forgotten that CBB came in talking about competing for SEC championships and beating Bama?  Remember how silly we looked when they hung half a hundred on us with the gas pedal only halfway down in the second half?

I'm tempering my excitement until we see what happens.  I'm thinking maybe the Thor and Chuck Norris stuff needs to wait a bit after getting burned recently.

CCM may put the hammer down, but he may miss and hit his thumb the first season or two...just sayin'.

Emotional resonance?   The last time I checked Thor is a comic book character and the movies they've made are for entertainment value.  If you're looking for emotional resonance you may want to check out "Beaches ".
