Here is the skinny okay:

Colts only have one viable RB on their roster. Dominic Rhodes. Make no mistake Rhodes is an NFL calibur RB but who's going to spell him and where are the colts going to get the money to pay em.

Rhodes has 1633 yds in his 5 years with the colts...but.

1104yds came in the 2001 season when Edge was out with an injury. If you will remember the playoffs that year, Rhodes couldn't get out of the backfield.

Kory Chapman is listed on the depth chart, with Rhodes 2nd string and 1st string empty...I feel like this is very appropriate considering the situation.

James Mungro , FB, is still in Indy but wont be able to carry a game as the primary go to runner. In his 5 seasons he has picked up 430 total yards.

This problem is compounded by the fact that the Colts just signed big extensions with Manning, Wayne and line backer Gary Bracken

The colts have also lost Linebacker David Thornton, and Defensive Lineman Larry Triplett.

The colts are very lopsided in their spending off vs. def anyway coming into this season, and so they are faced with a very difficult decision. Spend more on offense, or sure up the defense?

The colts have amassed some Playstation esque numbers over the last 5 years, but still haven't been to a Superbowl, largely due to the inability to stop anyone.

Dont what they are going to do, but do know that they are one injury away from Jim Sorgi at staring qb and Rhodes at rb... not a good situation to be in, considering the holes they had in the defense and problems continue to get worse.

Time for Irsay to play the little Dutch boy with his finger in the damn.
