Ole Miss at LSU (-4/74.5), 3:30 p.m. ET

Alabama (-16/73.5) vs. Florida, 8 p.m. ET

Week 16 gambling notes

-Alabama's Mac Jones (-300) is a clear favorite to win the Heisman Trophy now that Florida lost a second game.

-The Tide (-140) remain national title favorites ahead of Clemson (+260), Ohio State (+475), Notre Dame (+800) and Texas A&M (+4000).

-I've mentioned these numbers before, but they're worth updating. Alabama is 9-2 ATS in its last 11 games. The Tide are a combined +88.5 against the Circa Sports closing number this season, which is fourth in the country behind Coastal Carolina (+152), Tulane (+91.5) and Iowa (+91).

-Unders are 8-2 in Auburn games this season.

SEC title game matchup against Florida will pit the 10-0 Crimson Tide against an 8-2 Gators team that has a Heisman contender at quarterback (Kyle Trask), two of the nation's top playmakers (tight end Kyle Pitts and wide receiver Kadarius Toney) and an offense that's No. 2 in the SEC

There isn't much confidence in Florida from an SEC coaching perspective, especially after the Gators' 37-34 home loss to 3-5 LSU on Saturday.

It was the fourth time this year that Florida's defense has surrendered at least 35 points. Now, the Gators are set to face an Alabama offense that's ranked No. 1 among Power Five

"I think Bama will beat the —- out of them," an offensive SEC coach said.

Kyle Trask, when he faces Alabama in the SEC Championship on Saturday, will be the clear outlier of that post-Ole Miss group. There's no question he can stretch he field, and with Kyle Pitts, Kadarius Toney and Trevon Grimes, there's no doubt that the Gators will put some pressure on the Alabama secondary downfield.

Don't get it twisted. Alabama deserves credit for dominating those quarterbacks (more on that in a bit). However, if we're trying to figure out what this team's upside is, Saturday will be a monumental test in that regard. Why? If there's a Playoff path that involves matchups against Ohio State and Clemson, well, let's just say that Jarrett Guarantano isn't being confused for Justin Fields or Trevor Lawrence.

In that stretch, Franks was the only quarterback who had north of 7.0 yards per attempt ...

What's fair is to expect is for Alabama to put Trask in some of the same spots LSU did. Confuse some of the coverages, speed up those reads and jump 1 or 2 of those anticipation throws that Trask makes. He's been historically prolific, though not perfect.

Christian Harris, now key cog in Alabama defense, game-time decision for SEC title



"I think he can play, I just don't know how effective he might be," Nick Saban said.

Harris, who injured his shoulder on the first play of last Saturday's win at Arkansas, remains questionable to play in the SEC championship game against Florida. Harris has practiced "a couple days" this week, Nick Saban said Thursday.

"I think he can play, I just don't know how effective he might be," Saban said during his weekly radio show. "That's probably going to be a game-time decision."

A year has made a huge difference for Harris, a high school cornerback who was one of the top prospects from Louisiana during the 2019 recruiting cycle. Harris was named as a semifinalist for the Butkus Award and was selected by Alabama coaches as a player of the week following wins over Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Missouri...

...If Harris can play Saturday, his shoulder injury could limit his effectiveness in defending the run. But his athleticism could be an important piece of the puzzle in defending Florida's passing game and tight end Kyle Pitts.
