Maybe I am missing it, or don't have high enough post count... or possibly you guys have considered this and decided against it...

But is there a button/link/whatever to be able to share either an individual post or a thread with facebook/twitter?

You could quote the post/thread, copy the URL and paste it wherever you would like....

Seems correct.  Only issue would be for potential readers trying to access those few forums where "guests" are not allowed.  In that case, the potential reader would have to be logged-in with their Hogville account, AND have access to that forum (i.e. post count).  An example would be DST.

At least, that would be my guess.   :-\

How is it a bad thing if a guests ends up registering, though? :)

Hogville will eventually have some integration with Social Media, though it will NOT be the primary driving force behind the site. As large as Hogville is, we have to keep it quick. :)

The more stuff you load up that has external dependencies, the slower it'll get.

Doug, what about a  emoticon?   ;D

follow up question: Will there ever be a function where when you hit "new replies" it will take you directly to your last post in the thread?

Doug

Hawgn, click on "Show new replies to your posts." and then click on the "New" icon for each topic.

FYI, I just tested that method... and it works exceptionally well. :)

Sometimes, I think you're a wine-o who found a laptop in a dumpster.
