If there were no violations, then why are you letting him go?

My thoughts too. Maybe just getting out in front of it all?

It said no NCAA or SEC violations........That snapshot didn't mention any Federal laws not being broken.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

Could you have one without the other?

The NCAA and SEC are not enforcement agents for federal laws.

Here's what is ironic........guess what his former job was..............Assistant Director of Enforcement at the NCAA.

Let's face it.Alabama basketball getting all these players is a joke.put Bama history and present against Arkansas.not even close.A. Johnson has never beat Mike Anderson as head coach at Alabama.yet he's getting 2 five stars, while Mike get's none.and look at the players Pearl has been getting at Auburn.and Auburn has no history in basketball either.we all know what is going on. they cheated to get those players. this is what Mike Anderson has been up again folks.he is doing a hell of a job when you look at the players other teams are getting.this is just sickening!

I think that is Bama's way of saying we aren't going to give our violations to the NCAA freely. They will have to get it from the Feds

Still helps us though. There are guys picking Auburn and Bama ahead of us this year. Now those players will be inelgible.

Look at it this way;  Alabama is worried enough about this that they're going to be willing to scorch the Earth near their basketball program, to protect football.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Well, the Fed guy having the presser yesterday did say 'if you have something, call us. it's better for you to call us than us call you.'
So, Alabama appears to be following that advice.

Unsaid so far: how can anyone conduct an internal review in ONE DAY, and come to this conclusion? Impossible in that short amt of time.
UNLESS you already know something is improper. So there was nothing to 'review', only to 'reveal'.

Exactly.  They would throw the BB program under the bus so fast it would mess you up.

Os this even sports related?

That looks like a different corruption investigation that does not mention Baker.

They fired Baker, likely for nothing related to that press conference.

WHAT?!? You mean all these schools in the SEC who haven't been competitive lately aren't just getting all these 4 and 5 star kids because their schools go out and hire a HC who "actually knows how to recruit"? Woah, crazy, I thought Pearl, Avery, etc. just had great personalities

Kobie Baker resignation tied to FBI investigation

https://www.tidesports.com/kobie-baker-resignation-fbi-investigation/

According to the charges released yesterday by the United States Attorney Office in the Southern District of New York, Michel met with an unidentified "school administrator" who accepted a $5,000 payment and arranged an August meeting with the "father of a highly regarded incoming freshman" from the Atlanta area, along with Michel and a cooperating federal witness listed as CW-1.

An additional $10,000 was allegedly given to Michel at that meeting, and was to be given to the staff member for his "influence" in steering the player.

The Tuscaloosa News learned Wednesday that UA believed Baker to be the "staff member" identified. The player's father was not identified. Alabama recruited highly-rated freshman Collin Sexton from the Atlanta area last season.
