I think this is one of the main reasons I do not HATE this LSU team as much as all the other LSU teams, because I have a lot of respect for those seniors coming back to play together and compete for a national championship this year.

Exactly. The ump was poor, but he was consistently poor. That outside pitch was called all day. You have to adjust by crowding the plate a bit more and at least fighting it off.

It's like getting to the Super Bowl and changing the rule to 3 downs to get 10 yards.  It's the same for both teams but you really don't know how it ultimately affects the game.

Well, he is kinda right. Coaches  have the ability to request a conference among Umpires under the "Getting the Call Right" provisions in  Appendix E of the NCAA Baseball Rules Book. Obviously, it's not like football where he can throw a flag, but it naive to think a coach don't effect a challenge.
