Since at least 2005-2006. That team was extremely up and down even with Ronnie Brewer. This Hogs team will be better than a #8 seed, barring disaster.

So, before that, best Hogs team since? This team is pretty deep, good mix of experience, and has a clear alpha male in Portis. They've hit a groove in conference and are rolling the teams they should roll, minus an Ole Miss hiccup.

If they make the Sweet 16, the only answer is 1995.  The 1996 team went to the Sweet 16 but its seed and regular season record was not as good.

Until then, the 1998 team is their measuring stick.
