Ben Johnson's 11-yard touchdown reception from Evan Lassiter with 5:51 left in the fourth quarter lifted Henderson State to its 31st consecutive road win as the Reddies beat
Arkansas-Monticello 28-21, Saturday in Monticello, Ark.

The win improved Henderson's record to 6-4 on the season with head coach Scott Maxfield becoming the first coach in Reddie history to record eight straight winning seasons.

After a scoreless first quarter, Andrew Black provided the first score of the game to begin the second quarter with a 3-yard run to put the Reddies on top 7-0. The big play of the drive was a 33-yard rush by Blake Faulk.

UAM tied the score just before half as Jalen Tolliver caught a 1-yard pass from Cole Sears to make the score 7-7 at the break.

Tolliver again struck to begin the second half with a 26-yard reception to give the Boll Weevils on top 14-7 with 4:54 left in the third quarter.

Henderson, however, responded on its next drive as Lassiter hooked up with Black for a 5-yard score on the Reddies' next possession to tie the score at 14-14 late in the third quarter.

UAM, 5-5 on the year, quickly regained the league as Deountorio Brown broke free for a 73-yard touchdown run to begin the fourth quarter.

The Reddies then drove down deep into UAM territory, but Obi Nwachukwu picked off a Lassiter pass at the Weevil 10.

The Reddie defense then responded as Malcom Scott returned the favor by picking off a Sears pass and returning it 30 yards to again tie the score at 21-21 win 9:59 left to play.

Henderson's defense forced a three-and-out with the Reddies taking over on their own 42. The Reddies converted on a pair of 3rd-down conversions including a 14-yard pass from Lassiter to Jones, and a 28-yard hookup with Black to set up Johnson's winning score.

The Henderson defense again held and forced a UAM punt with 4:40 remaining.

The Reddies went on to run out the clock with the help of Faulk's 42 yards rushing on 5 carries including a 27-yard to begin the drive. Henderson converted on 4th-and-4 as
Lassiter connected with Fernando Van Hook for 5 yards to keep the drive alive and secure the victory.

Henderson totaled 347 yards of offense, while the defense limited one of the top offensive teams in the league to 379 yards.
