Jump Ball / Re: Rivalry Renewed (Arkansas ...Last post by popcornhog - Today at 09:46:49 amQuote from: kaiserhog on May 02, 2024, 05:59:42 pmThey are not acting like it's a mere annoyance and distraction. Yeah. They're incredibly annoyed right now. In the same way that we would be if like Muss had gone to South Carolina and taken all of his players with him. It's got the potential to explode back into full fledged mid 90s rivalry for sure. And the fact that we have some history of competing on the same level 30 years ago and that we are among the top 3 basketball programs in the SEC, historically, it can get there. But right now we are just annoying them. That's how it starts though. 2
Monday Morning Quarterback / Re: O'Gara: Sam Pittman's futu...Last post by Mike_e - Today at 09:46:14 amQuote from: husker71 on April 28, 2024, 08:17:28 pmWell you are wrong and I know you like to read anti SP or UA into alot of comments . I really was asking about Ford before we hired him . Lets go through the coaches since Broyles and their market value when they left. I will not include those who were just filler ins like Kimes and Lunney etc Lou HOltz still desired but at the time maybe Minnesota was not the ceiling of offers. Ken Hatfield still desired by several good programs I would think. Jack Crowe very little in fact probably 0. Danny Ford probably none and learned on here today many thought he was more interested in cattle business. Houston Nutt still desirable by many schools but not great jobs. Bobby Petrino if not for the incident very desirable . John L little interest as HC by any schools. Bret Bielima little interest at 1st because others saw what we saw . I was shocked when Illinois came calling. Chad Morris little to zero (closer to zero) by any school looking for HC Funny thing is Morris and Ford were really good recruiters IMHO Danny Ford was a national championship (mythical) winner at Clemson so yeah he could easily have gotten another job. The knock on him here was that he was Bear Bryant old school and the kids these days... let that sink in for a bit. lol 3
OmaHOGS - Extra Innings,The Road to Omaha / Re: DVH’s interesting postgame...Last post by hogfan10 - Today at 09:46:08 amQuote from: Bruinstyle2001 on Today at 06:46:51 amTygart gave up 5 runs officially, but there may be a little asterisk there since 3 scored in 2nd as a result of Lovich play continuing the inning and 2 runs scored in the 4th when Gage allowed both inherited runners to score. The 4th I can be seeing partially on Tygart since he let 2 on with no outs.Tygart's runners = Tygart's runs, unless they reached by error. 4

Tygart gave up six runs today, probably not all his fault but still. Could see next weekend the starting rotation change to Smith ( Friday ), Molina ( Saturday ), and Wood ( Sunday ) My first reaction was also Tygart but the way he talked about Tygart's performance being an outlier, the more it seemed like Molina. Guess we'll see. 5

Wonder which one this Thiero business was under...Long time former KY follower. Cal does not do paperwork. He meets with each player after the season. Talks about their future, input from NBA, next year, etc. Leaves it up to the player to make their adult decision. Also, the KY academic year ended on 5/2. Players technically still students at KY until then. KY players leaving for NBA & other places have typically finished their semester. Of course now ot is easier on-line. Will be interesting to see what is announced this week. 8
Monday Morning Quarterback / Re: O'Gara: Sam Pittman's futu...Last post by jbcarol - Today at 09:24:21 amO'Gara: The ceiling for each SEC team in 2024
QuoteMany things can determine a ceiling. Strength of schedule — at least how it's perceived in the preseason — is part of that. Returning production is big, as is the continuity with the coaching staff. If it's just about 1 thing, you're probably not looking at the full picture when it comes to determining a program's ceiling. 9

Jump Ball / Re: Rivalry Renewed (Arkansas ...Last post by raz1965 - Today at 09:09:30 amI think if only one game between the two is scheduled a coin fiip to decide home court would be proper, but one would think since money drives things, a home and home would bring more revenue to all party's.
