I would be surprised with 30+ wins this year. 25+ seems more realistic, especially with our schedule.

24-7

I would be beyond happy with that record against this schedule.

22-9 regular season would be great, especially if we get Khalil Garland back in a month or two and we are playing our best ball late in the season as the post season approaches.

23-8 is my floor. I always like going into the SEC tournament knowing we won't have double digit losses come selection Sunday. Actually makes no difference but is a psychological thing for me.

Yes

I like this team. But it is extremely unlikely we win 30 games.

Reason's

it's been 22 years since Arkansas won atleast 30 games.

MA has one 30+ once as a HC.

Our out of conference  schedule is tougher than last year.

Our in conference schedule is tougher.

We are losing key pieces in Dusty and Moses that will affect chemistry atleast in the early part of this season

ErieHog

I'll peg our team at 21 wins before postseason play.

The schedule is quite difficult, and its essentially only a step down from the best in the country.  The team has a lot of work to do replacing known quantities, establishing pecking orders, and finding crunch time identities in a transition season.

It could end up a better team than last year's, but is very unlikely to match it with wins.

No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. Haith won 30+ his first year with an Anderson team.  That team reminds me of our own.  Really good guards and lots of shooters.

razorback1829

30+ wins Elite 8/Final four type year. We have some nasty guards that will be able to drive us deep into the postseason. Barford and Macon are very underrated. Gafford is a freak. Will be lucky to have him 2 years. MA really likes this team and so do I. Got a lot of good pieces with the guidance of CMA.

I like this team too but it is NOT going to win 30 games or make it to the elite 8!  Yes, we will have the guard play edge just about every night but I don't have warm fuzzies about the back line.  And, the ability to run down the opponent left college basketball 20 years ago.  I'm thinking more like 23-8 with the schedule and an improved SEC.

This team has the talent and FIGHT that we have really lacked since we were a factor. They also will have he swagger. I'm telling you, this is our year to really make our statement. And we will deliver. All the pieces are in place.

That's interesting seeing as no one has seen them play.

Watching this team grow as a unit is going to be so much fun. I am very interested in how this is going to play out and I think we are going to be highly entertained.

He did. There were also some changes in their style of play in Haith's first team at Mizz.

I think it's quite possible Mizz would have won less games that year with MA as their coach.

However, they would have avoided that embarrassing first round loss to a 15 seed.

Cinco de Hogo

If we can finish regular season above 23 wins and make a run in the SECT and the NCAA getting close to 30 isn't out of the question.  But that's really just preseason conjecture.

He's an unbiased source too.

HogFoo

id love to see 30 wins.  But, I see more of a 25-26 reg. season sec. tourney, then a run in the big dance.  I too believe that this team has a lot of talent on it.  We obviously will be guard driven, but man we have some great guards!  I also believe that Trey Thompson, Gafford will more than make up for the loss of Moses.  I'm more concerned with who will be our zone buster deep ball shooter.  But, I think Macon, Barford, Beard, along with all of our new guards will do their best to fill that roll.   Definitely think that we will not be a team anyone wants to play come post season.  We will have some losses early on, but once this team gells, it's gonna be 40 mins. of Hell!

Just depends on your agenda or motivation.  Some are so tied to Anderson they can excuse anything.  I've said anything less than sweet 16 this year is mediocre. Sweet 16 is great year.

i think it has been a great year and we were predicting a 4-5 seed before the year started, but many didn't know including me how good the conference was, if it was like 3-4 years ago then Arkansas would very well be 24-7, 25-6 this year but the SEC is dang tough, still could get that 6 or 7 seed and pull a South Carolina like last year

Not really, there hasn't been a "this is the year" in a very long time.  At least not if your expecting any more than making the tourney and a first or second round exit.  Those are not "the year" we are looking for.  For me that would be a year I expect to make at least the elite eight.  I didn't expect that this year and I don't think many at all did.  Don't expect it next year either unless Superman transfers in...or he stays another year.  LOL! 🙏

In what universe?

People who have a realistic appreciation of where our program is, and where it needs to go, should appreciate this season.

It could have been a major step backwards, especially as the rest of the league picked up the quality of play-- but it hasn't been.

agreed. Yes, I wish we'd won 30 games (we still technically can), but we haven't had a bad year, either. Gafford leaving would be a gut punch, but it seems highly likely at this point.
