South-paw pitching....as in we need some and we need it in both quantity and quality

ad: term is interchangeable with boxing lingo

adII:  I would put my left handed granddaughter who at 10 up for consideration, as she is required to play with the boys, but I don't think DVH can wait 8 years for some quality 'south paw' pitching
The long Grey line will never fail our country.

What's the term for an outfield wall, usually down the lines, that is significantly closer to home plate than the rest?

What's the term for a play where a runner on 3rd is running on the pitch while the batter attempts to bunt?

The second one is a squeeze play but drawing a blank on the first one.
"He hits from both sides of the plate.  He's amphibious."

Actually, with the runner going on the pitch, it is a suicide squeeze play.

If a player were to leave his leather and a pill on the bump, what did he leave and where did he leave it?

Actually, deuces refers to 2 Balls 2 strikes and 2 outs. I think it may be a newer term that ball players use. You'll often see teams in the dugout rubbing or shaking their hats in these situations. Kind of a superstitious thing.

I had always heard the term room service used in conjunction with a room service hop. That is, a nice, high hop on a ground ball that makes it easy to field.

Can of corn is an easy fly ball caught for an easy out.

Short hop can mean 1 of 2 things. A batted ball that takes a hop immediately in front of the fielder or a throw from a fielder that does the same thing.

Pop up slide is a slide, feet first that immediately comes back up to a standing position.

AirForceHog

If it turns, burns, banks or rolls, crew chiefs made it happen.

A live arm describes a pitcher who can get up in velocity.

I'm not familiar with parachute. You've stumped me. I guess it has to do with a high fly ball that is slow to cone down

That's a good guess and description. It's a fly ball that might get caught up in the wind and just kind of changes directions or seems to put the breaks on and float down, aka a deep fly ball to right at Baum on many days.

I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater.
