Thanks for all the updates. I know how hard it is to find summer stats

SPAL

Bonfield batted 5th and played left in a 2-0 win. Luke was 1-2 with a double, a walk , and 2 runs scored.

His line is

5 15   3   4   3    0     0    2       1     4     0.   .267

SPAL

His spray chart shows he has had doubles down both lines and pulled one to the gap.

SPAL

Ty Harris pitched 4 scoreless innings. Line updated above

SPAL

Benninghoff was 0-1 with a K in a pinch hit spot.

SPAL

C-span was 1-3 with a double and 2 walks

SPAL

Line updated above

SPAL

Trying to get word on Kevin Silky. He hasn't played since early June although he is still on the roster.

Man it would be great if he could come back with some confidence next year to help this staff.

To me, so much of the positive outlook for next year revolves around Spanberger and Bonfield being able to hit well in the 3-5 range.  This seems plausible with bonfield's preinjury track record and the way Spanberger performed against SEC pitching as a freshman.

I will be really happy if he can hit 270 or 275 this summer in the Cape with a good amount of playing time

Not any of our guys.

I really don't care about the others, haha.

Kevin

Like our guys to play well in the summer, not sure it translates.

Wasn't chadwick the reliver of the year last year, in the Texas league

Did they use the new ball last summer in all of the summer leagues or was fall ball the first time?

A happy life is doing something "that matters".  So start today!!!!!

SPAL

Struck out swinging in his first at bat.

SPAL

Base hit to right for Bonny...ups his average to .294

Good deal.  Hope he develops this summer.

How is this for a pitchibg staff?....Potential top 10 draft pick Robert Tyler on in relief of Potential 1/1 pick AJ Puk

Tyler is also a candidate to go 1-1.  The pitching talent in the SEC for next year is just plain nasty.  Probably 8-9 guys could be first round picks in one of the best draft years ever.

SPAL

Spanberger 0-2 with a BB, K, R

SPAL

Simms on a 5 game hit streak. Went 2-4 with 2 singles and stole his 5th base.

Maybe I missed it in prior threads but what is McKinney doing this summer? Did they make a decision to let him rest?

He is back home resting and rehabbing. He was going to get another MRI. He is gonna throw some but not a lot. He isn't playing any kind of ball and will be back in the fall.

Tried to post this morning but hogville was having issues....

Cannon picked up a win on 5 hits, 1 walk, no runs allowed going 5 and 2/3 striking out 4.

Pate pitched 11/3 struck out 4 and picked up the save.

It's good to strikeout 5 in 4 outs, although I thought it said 4 in the 1 1/3.

well, it would be good on the stat sheet if they would let it count that way every now and then! (five in four)  Still, it was good seeing Pate get a save to preserve Chadwick's win.  Hope to see more of that next year or vice versa.

No problem, just having fun, and it's possible to have 5 strikeouts in 1 1/3. You get credit for a strikeout on a swinging 3rd strike passed ball and the runner goes to first. I didn't know what Pate's line was until I read their stat line on him.

SPAL

Jackson pitched a scoreless 9th but without a box, I don't know the deets. Box should be updated tomorrow.

Arkansas RHP Zach Jackson worked 91-93 touching 94 and 95 in the 9th. SL flashed some serious bite. Will need to be more consistent in zone.

That will be the difference between him being a starter or best closer in college next season.
