UGA's mammoth-sized offensive line class could be a program cornerstone  https://www.dawgnation.com/football/ugas-mammoth-sized-offensive-line-class-program-cornerstone

QuoteGeorgia's starting offensive line had an average weight of 295 pounds, the smallest in the SEC. That doesn't fly with Chaney's power run, as was so evident this season. Sam Pittman and the rest of the coaches recruiting linemen have started to rectify this deficiency with commits from the likes of 4-star prospect Andrew Thomas (310 pounds), 4-star recruit Netori Johnson (348), 3-star talent Justin Shaffer (356) and 4-star prospect D'Antne Demery (319). With the addition of the 320-pound Hayes, an offensive line featuring those giants would weigh an average of 330 pounds, almost 15 pounds more than the biggest line in the SEC this season. That's not even mentioning still uncommitted Pace Academy 4-star target Jamaree Salyer, who seems a good bet to play between the hedges.

And Georgia could still get bigger on the offensive line. MUCH bigger. Five-star offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson (6-7, 350 pounds) took his official visit to Georgia last weekend and announced shortly after that he is moving his planned decision date from Christmas Day to Dec. 16. Michigan and Alabama have been Nos. 1 and 2 for Wilson throughout most of the process, but it seems like a good sign for Georgia that he moved up the date.

Quote"I saw the class that they built," Wilson said. "I was around the guys during my official visit. Everything just clicked. It seemed like we knew each other for forever. We are definitely going to do something special over the next 3-4 years."

Who are the biggest sleepers in UGA's Class of 2017?
https://www.dawgnation.com/football/biggest-sleepers-ugas-class-2017

QuoteGeorgia's class is loaded, and there isn't a player in it who wouldn't be immediately snatched up by some of the biggest programs in the country. But there is a recency bias in recruiting. Players who committed recently are fresher on the mind and typically higher regarded than guys who have been sewn up a while... the gaggle of players at the top of all the recruiting rankings and playing in the national all-star games — like Richard LeCounte III, Jake Fromm and Isaiah Wilson — get a bit more pub...

The following group are the players who have been forgotten in the recruiting shuffle. They're either ranked in the bottom half of the class, committed long ago or both. But they're all guys I think can make major contributions when they get to Athens.

***

1) Jaden Hunter, LB — Hunter has been a UGA commit longer than anyone in this class sans LeCounte...

2) Trey Blount, WR — Dawgs are hurting at receiver, so every player who signs at that position is going to have a chance to play...

3) William Poole III, CB — Georgia has been lights out recruiting the secondary this year, but most of the attention has gone to LeCounte, DeAngelo Gibbs and Tray Bishop...

4) Matt Landers, WR — Landers is a far different receiver from Blount and any other wideout currently in UGA's class. Although he is the lowest-rated player in UGA's class ... size.

5) Justin Shaffer, OG — It goes to show you just how good UGA's offensive line recruiting is that a mammoth-sized, 6-5, 35o-pound guard is considered a sleeper

And this shows exactly what we're up against.  Out of the state of Georgia's top 25 you have 3-5 stars and the rest are all 4 stars.  Every single one of them is going to a major college.  Compare that to the state of Arkansas who has 3-4 stars, 13-3 stars and 9-2 stars and some of these go to UCA, ASU, ULM, etc.  That's a tough nut to crack.
I need to be more like my dog...if you can't fight it, screw it, or eat it, then piss on it.

They've got Jim Chaney as their OC. That's the great equalizer.

BREAKING: UGA lands commitment from versatile defender Aaron Brule

Sam Pittman's reaction is easily the best.

QuoteATHENS

Georgia's coaches aren't allowed to directly name Justin Fields when celebrating his commitment to the program.

But they are allowed to showcase their excitement while keeping his name out of what's written. When Fields, the nation's No. 1 overall recruit, pledged to Georgia Friday, an immediate stream of reactions were let loose.

The best came from offensive line coach Sam Pittman, who let out a lengthy and continuous, "Yes sir!" while shaking some pom-poms.

In his words:
