No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Good sign. Twins should be pretty good next year.

We're rising like a Phoenix here.  The injuries and bad luck have finally ended!

It's going to be a long summer.    Digging out of 16.5 game holes at the start out June requires nothing short of a miracle.

You forget the curse of the Minnesota sports fan.  We'll get the miracle, but as a trade we have to accept having our spirits crushed in dramatic fashion in the playoffs.

Lost 3 in a row. Hard to win consistently when you need a MASH unit at the ballpark to treat all the injured players, Just goes to show how good a manager that Gard is. Most teams would be twenty back at this point. Maybe they will get rolling again once we get back to AL teams.

I love Thome. I try to teach my son to play like him. I've never heard a single negative thing about him.

Delmon Young = Ouch.

As strange as this sounds, it's going to be addition by subtraction.  If he misses extended time, it really eases the log jam that was about to happen at the MLB roster level, when Spahn comes off the DL.    Instead of carrying 5 OF, they'll be back down to 4, and Revere will get to play every day-- and he's got fantastic range, turning that defensive outfield into a pair of great guys with a below average guy in right,  instead of Spahn and two liabilities on each corner.

Looks like their wills have been broken. They are not even looking good against the lowly Dodgers. The pitchers who looked like world beaters are now easily beaten. Tough game baseball. Perhaps asking them to come back from 20 down was a pipe dream, but I hope they at least get back to .500

My post above jinxed it.   >:(

I'm planning my annual pilgrimage to a home game.  Even if we suck, at least now we can watch us suck in a great venue.

Hey, to quote the great movie "Major League". " We won two, we win one more it's called a winning streak". BTW on Mike and Mike this morning they revealed that Charlie Sheen was juicing when he made that movie. Said his fastball went from 79 to 85.
