Falcons Head Coach says he will take speed over size EVERY TIME. I sure like the way they play on that side of the ball!

MrKlem10

Except at the DT spots.   I like it

Yea it would be awesome if the hogs had a roster full of NFL talent.

Not what I said at all, but yes it would be nice

Excellent example of the one-gap version of the 3-4.  Speed and pressure to disrupt through the gap rather than standing the Oline up and reading.

Hey FAN, are you hearing anything on the coaching search?

FANONTHEHILL

Not a word.  I imagine in the next week or two.  It depends a lot on what role current staff members fill.  Will Rhoads stay with all secondary or just coach corners or safeties? Will Hargreaves coach all LBs or just inside or outside? Will they break it down strong and weak and a coach wil have half line and the OLB. Also, through in the special teams aspect.  Segrest coached the specialists, not the entire special teams, just the kickers, punters, and snappers.  Lots of questions to answer.

Hogville won't last two weeks without some staff additions........

Completely agree with OP. You may have trouble with guys like LF7, but Guise won't burn you every time he touches the ball. Speed > Size every time. I feel our strength program has put too much muscle on some guys.

Yeah it seems like they may only have two scenarios. It wouldn't be strange to have CPR coach the entire secondary, considering how some 3-4 DCs coach the entire ILB/OLB corps. It's going to be a very interesting couple of weeks.

Well to be honest...   hogs were up against Mizzou .... Atlanta up against the greatest dynasty in NFL history... the comparison breaks down.

Fold like razorback D.
If gun control worked, Chicago would look like Mayberry, not Thunderdome. http://heyjackass.com/

HiggiePiggy

Yep. Must have been the razorback defense and offense that showed up in that second half.

Speed is great and all but it's hard to run fast laying on your ass.

They looked like us in the second half, only faster.

I guess it's always good to get where you're going faster  :)

Except in a couple of instances and only one being football.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

Falcons played a good first half but they were one of the worst defenses in football for the entire season.

Not sure I'd hold them up as an example to follow defensively...

What was it that Nolan used to say... Fatigue makes cowards of us all.  I didn't think much of it at the time but after Atlanta scored to go up 28-9 Joe Buck said something like the Atlanta offense has only run 30 some plays and I thought to myself if this was a close game their defense was going to be in trouble because the time they had been on the field.  Turns out they didn't even need to be close.  I knew when the Patriots won the toss the game was over.
Ladies and Gentlemen can I please have your attention.  I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story and I need all of you to stop what you are doing and listen!

So you think Patriots don't have speed?  LMAO

Pats didn't win the toss Guys.  The Alt D wore out when the Alt O couldn't give them a break by keeping the ball.  This game turned out much like the BAMA/Clemson game did.  When you finally wear out a D, if you can wear it out early enough and your O has anything, you got a good chance of winning the game.

No way should Atlanta have lost by all normal and reasonable processes.  But the real reason the Pats won had little to do with muscles and great QB play, it was nearly all about mental toughness.  The Pats never considered losing and Atlanta couldn't quite get their heads around winning.  Atlanta accepted an ass whipping late because that is what was expected.  Oddly enough, it ended more on what the Atlanta O couldn't do in the second as opposed to what the Pats O did do. If Atlanta could have put together just 1 more play per possession, they win.

This game did have one element that Arkansas has none of.  Mental Toughness.  Wouldn't expect us to be even close to the level the Pats are at but if just had a pinch of Mental Toughness, we win 2 more games last season and likely are in the top 25, maybe even the top 20.

All considered, a great Superbowl.
