Where the Razorback rank among SEC teams, position by position

Front Seven:
#13 Arkansas: The Hogs have to get a lot better here. Losing Brooks Ellis, Deatrich Wise Jr. and Jeremiah Ledbetter will hurt, but some believe there's good upside with this year's group. The linebackers didn't pull their weight last year, but Dre Greenlaw, who recorded 42 tackles in seven games, Randy Ramsey and De'Jon Harris have some solid potential. Former ESPN 300 DE McTelvin Agim was one of the Hogs' top defenders last year. Bijhon Jackson is more of a rotational guy along the line while the likes of Austin Capps and Briston Guidry should have bigger roles. Arkansas didn't hit this area very hard in its 2017 class.

Secondary:
#10 Arkansas: The Razorbacks got better against the pass in 2016, but that's not saying much considering they finished dead last in that category the season before. The hope is for even more improvement in 2017 with starters Ryan Pulley, Josh Liddell and Santos Ramirez all returning.

QB:
#3 Arkansas: Austin Allen, who will be a senior, played first-team All-SEC caliber football the first two months of the 2016 season and showed he's more than capable of getting the job done. There is plenty of depth behind him with backup Ty Storey returning in addition to redshirt freshman Cole Kelley and true freshman Daulton Hyatt, a 2017 ESPN 300 signee and early enrollee.

The OL
#5 Arkansas: The Hogs return four of the five starters, including Frank Ragnow, one of the nation's best centers. Finding a replacement for left tackle Dan Skipper, an All-SEC selection who graduated, will be the toughest task.

Wide Recievers/TEs
#13 Arkansas: This receiving corps looks a lot different from the last two years. Gone are Drew Morgan, Keon Hatcher, Jeremy Sprinkle and Dominique Reed, who caught 158 passes for 2,117 yards and 17 touchdowns last season. Jared Cornelius is the only pass-catcher returning who had more than 20 catches last season, but coach Bret Bielema has to be stoked about signing No. 1 JUCO WR Brandon Martin, who is in Fayetteville.

Backfield
#4 Arkansas: As long as Bret Bielema is coaching, the Razorbacks are always going to have one of the SEC's rushing leaders. This past season, it was Rawleigh Williams III who burst on to the scene with 1,360 yards and 12 touchdowns. Williams is back, though talented sophomore-to-be Devwah Whaley might cut into his carries in 2017.

Good post, thanks for sharing!

I think our front 7 will surprise people next year. Not saying they will be #1 or anything, but I bet there is noticeable improvement with the new scheme and staff.

And I think our passing game doesn't dip much. Losing Hatcher/Morgan/Sprinkle is tough, but I also think that having the Allen bros throwing to them have made them look pretty great. We have a lot of potential on the sideline that can step up for us. AA will have a year's experience and a more experienced offensive line.

WR ranking is justified by experience and performance.  However, I think it is way too low.

I find it hard to believe the #3 QB will have the #13 WR.

That was the first thing that jumped out at me. I know we lost a lot, but no. 13? We'll be strong here.

I hate to say until we prove otherwise, our defensive ranking—front 7, 4 DBs—is probably right for now. But we had better prove otherwise in 2017.

Our defense better be ready...I think we are in for a rough year.

When they re-rank at the end of the season, we will not finish with the #13 WR/TE group. We will be in the top half for sure.

If teams announced the most valuable individual on the team, either coach or player, I would offer that Enos would have won that the past 2 years.  The first two years of BBs time here, I don't know.  But I really believe BB will win that award for 2017 hands down.  I really believe he will coach his rear end off at every level in 2017.  I believe that will pay huge dividends in attitude, performance of the team, performance of the staff and won/loss record.  I would not want to be a slack off coach or player for this team in 2017.  I would not want a flip flop having to be removed from my posterior.  Therefore, I believe most of our grouped positions will end up above 10 place overall, in the SEC, maybe even far better.
