Go to Alabama if they offered?  If not, who do you think will take over at Bama?

No, but I do remember HoopHog specifically mentioning Richt's name as a possibility for the soon-to-be vacancy at Miami. I seem to remember this post coming after Jimmy Sexton (Richt's agent I believe) spoke at the LRTC. Richt, apparently, has an out clause for the Miami job.

I listened to the Paul Finebaum show on the internet for a little while this afternoon.  If Finebaum has his way, Shula is toast.  Not sure if he is going to get his way.

I was watching the Iron bowl game Saturday.  Middle of the 4th quarter Shula was going to go for it on 4th down.  They couldn't call in a play so they had to burn a timeout.  The crowd started booing and the camera went on Shula and I read his lips saying, get over it.   Not sure it was directed towards the fans booing but it was funny at the least.

I would think he has seen his last days at Bama.  Look for Fat Phil to make the switch! 8) ;)

BigoBoys

He wants the Florida State job.

Shula will be there a long time.

No but he might go to Fla. State or Miami.I don't know why but it is possible. Georgia is much classier than the other 2 combined.

Butch decommits to NCS and takes the job. :o :razorback:

I don't think he wants to leave GA.  I saw an interview with him and he seemed like a classy guy who realized he had a great thing going in GA.

No way would I leave UGA for Bama.  That's a step down.

Yep, the Bama history is just that . . . History! I really feel like coaches in the top tier in this day are better off to stay put and make their own tradition where they are. Look for a coach to move up to Bama (and Miami) from a Rutgers, Louisville, or Boise State type program.

The recruiting rankings guarantee success about as well as getting Lee Corso to choose your team as the winner.

FootballHog

As much as I dislike Alabama, they do have one of the most storied college football programs. They should get whoever they want. But their program has been slipping the last couple of years, especially with Shula as their head coach. I think a good candidate would be Wake Forest's coach.

Richt won't leave Georgia, until they push him out.  He's got a competitive contract, great facilities, a winning tradition to maintain (but not an unrealistic tradition to live up to)-- and he's presided over more consistent success at his school than anyone else in the SEC, possibly aside from Fulmer.    He's secure in his job, has a very young team, and is likely to return to his 10 win season-ways in the immediate future.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Shy would you leave Georgia?  That's one of the nations top jobs.  Honestly I can't think of many better than that at UGA.  The state of Georgia is loaded with talent and UGA has no competition in instate recruiting(GT isn't competition).  Their facilities are top 10 in the country, the athletic department is one of the richest around, and the alumni are very strong in supporting the program.  UGA also has a history rich tradition and is shown on national TV almost every week.  Tell me if your Richt why would you leave this?
