The biggest question mark going into 2017  was the offensive line where A-State was replacing all five starters, and some key backups.

While the coaches have been telling everyone that the new OL was much bigger, stronger and more athletic, and had much better depth than the 2016 line, the concern was how long would it take them to come together as a unit. While one game does not a season make, apparently the answer was "not very long".

The line (Senior LT JP Philbert, Sophomore LG  Dalton Ford, Freshman C Jacob Still, Sophomore  RG Troy Elliott, and Junior RT Lanard Bonner) played very well against Nebraska, especially protecting the QB.  Justice Hansen was only sacked one time, and finished with 415 yds, on 46-68 passing, with 2 interceptions, and 3 TD's.

Did not run the ball much but RB's Warren Wand (who averaged 5.8 yards per carry) and Jamal Jones averaged over 5 yards per carry.

They will face another stiff test this weekend when the face off against a very good Miami DL, but so far so good.
