Vandy?!  Is that some sort of academic commit?  Never heard of him.

Team Oklahoma

I heard Chris Scroggins was offered also,  Cody Scroggins older brother at Crowder

ucahogfan

Keaton McKinney and the 18U USA National Team beat Japan to bring home the Gold.  McKinney had a pretty solid tourney both at the plate and on the mound.

any idea how Ark's 2014 class stacks up against other SEC teams?  Are there class rankings in college baseball?  Just wondering how we compare to others

According to PG, we are currently tied for 15th with Arizona.  They only have us down with 9 commits right now so we are probably higher.  I also feel like a couple of our commits are underrated.  We are currently 7th in the SEC behind Florida (#2 overall), LSU (#4), South Carolina (#7), Vanderbilt (#10), Ole Miss (#11), and Georgia (#12).

We are also the highest ranked team with less than 10 commits.

One last thing, if Luke Bonfield were to commit without anything else happening, we would jump to #10 in the class rankings.

He's from Central, I watched him play this year, he's got a live arm and hit it well. In talking to a Hog dad, I believe his parents, or Dad is a Vandy grad.

A couple of recruiting tidbits:

-  PG released their updated list of 2015 players.  Ty Harris dropped from 201 to 289.  Tyler Ivey saw a huge jump from 134 to 11.  He would be a huge get to campus.

-  PG also released their reports from the South Top Showcase in which Tyler Ivey and Drew Tyler both participated.  Ivey was almost certainly the top prospect at the event as he topped out at 92 and showed a nice curveball.  He was graded a 10 which is given to elite level players.  Drew Tyler was given a grade of 8 which means he is a potential draft pick and high level college prospect, but is one to look out for improvement in the future.  Their full reports can be viewed on their PG profiles.

-  Jeff Sullivan, who is in the baseball scouting business, released his personal top 100 high school players today.  Keaton McKinney made the list at #32.  Blake Wiggins made the list at #86.  Jonah Patten made the 30 prospects who just missed the list.  Other players of interest are following: target Luke Bonfield made the list at #19, target Michael Kopech made the list at #22, former commit Josh Ockimey made the list at #98, and Vandy commit Joey Abraham from LR Central made the 30 prospects who just missed the list.

I was told there will be 11 recruits on campus this weekend on their "Official Visit", to tour the campus, watch Friday's scrimmage, and attend the A&M game.  I'm assuming they are the one's listed above by UCAHogfan.  Looks like a good group, hope they have a good time.

Why that assumption?  I'm sure Arkansas is recruiting 20+ other players not on that list right now.

hawgcraZ

There's got to be a way to get a list of official visitors for Saturday.  Would be nice to have a decent crowd out there for the Friday scrimmage too.

At most schools the official visit is for those players who have verbally commited to that school, not just for any recruit.  That's not to say the school isn't still actively recruiting other players.  This is a way for the school to firm up their commitments before signing day in November.

We will have the "USUAL"  5 or 6 fans that show up for all of them there.

I would be pretty shocked if he doesn't sign with us in November, but I will be even more shocked if he steps foot on a college campus.

Well at least Bonfield is ours to.lose to the draft now.

From what I gather, he is a JUCO 1B/LHP at Maple Woods CC where he posted solid numbers last year as a freshmen.  He played in high school at Bentonville where he graduated in 2012.

Maple Woods CC is where Albert Pujols went to school.

Sam Henteges from MN.  Looks to be higher rated as well at #244.  Two way player
