Missouri basketball guard Terrence Phillips suspended indefinitely

Junior Terrence Phillips has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team policy.

In a statement, the school said that Phillips status with the Missouri basketball program, "will be determined in coordination with campus and department leadership."

Per Ashley Jost, Mizzou has opened a Title IX investigation. An anonymous young woman has alleged physical abuse. Not yet known if there are others.

Missouri opens Title IX investigation regarding suspended basketball player Terrence Phillips

Missouri has opened a Title IX investigation regarding Phillips, according to a report from Ashley Jost of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The office is in charge of investigating sexual violence on campus as well as issues of sex discrimination.

Per the report, Missouri was notified on the investigation on Friday morning, which was prior to the team announcing Phillips' suspension.

One person alleges that Phillips faces multiple allegations of physical abuse, per Jost's report. The junior guard has seen his numbers drop dramatically this year, as Phillips is averaging a career low in both points and assists.
