Marvin Zanders, who recently graduated from Missouri, has chosen to continue his collegiate career at Vanderbilt.

Zanders, who redshirted his first year in Columbia in 2014, played sparingly the last two seasons before deciding to transfer. Having graduated from Missouri, he will be eligible to play immediately.

While Missouri granted a full release, it is unknown whether Zanders will have to be granted a waiver from the SEC...

Michigan graduate transfer long-snapper Scott Sypniewski and junior-college transfer offensive lineman Saige Young will be eligible immediately this season. Wide receiver Alex Stump, an Ohio State transfer, must sit out the 2017 season to fulfill NCAA transfer rules before playing in 2018.

Young, a 6-foot-4, 315-pounder was an all-conference guard at Dodge City...

"Our team immediately becomes a better and deeper football squad with the addition of these young men," Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason said. “Their arrival on campus gives our program a full roster entering preseason camp.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. — E.J. Price, a former 4-star offensive tackle and top-100 prospect, announced Monday that he is committing to Kentucky after transferring from University of Southern California.

The 6-foot-6 product from Lawrenceville, Ga. — the same hometown as 2018 Kentucky quarterback commit Jarren Williams — decided to transfer from the Trojans just three games into his freshman season in 2016.

Price will sit out the 2017 season and have three years of eligibility starting in 2018.

Price held 34 offers coming out of high school. He committed to USC over a list that included Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Clemson and Oklahoma.

Tennessee’s chances with recruit Rutger Reitmaier  https://www.seccountry.com/tennessee/tennessee-football-recruiting-rutger-reitmaier

Quote
Tennessee is looking to recapture its glory from the 1990s.

Reports broke earlier this week of Oregon freshman defensive tackle Rutger Reitmaier deciding to transfer from the program before ever taking a snap. He early enrolled at the university this past spring and practiced with the team.

The reason for his sudden transfer supposedly has to do with him desiring to be closer to home.

This brings Vanderbilt and the Vols into play...

Reitmaier attended Lipscomb Academy in Nashville...

Washington will attempt to transfer to another university, according to Edna Karr High School coach Brice Brown, who was an assistant football coach when Washington was at the Algiers high school from 2012-15.

If that is not possible, then Washington will enroll at a junior college.

6-foot-4, 236-pound BUCK linebacker was taking reps behind Arden Key last summer during camp. An injury toward the end of the summer cost Washington his redshirt freshman season.

Washington was ruled ineligible for LSU’s spring practices.

That ineligibility stemmed from an undisclosed off-the-field incident, according to Brown.

Washington appealed to get back into school, but that was rejected.

High attrition is somewhat normal on years in which a head coaching changes happens.

Grad-transfer cornerback Shaq Wiggins still ‘adjusting’ to #Vols football's culture: http://bit.ly/2vSO3Vr

Quote
Defensive backs coach Charlton Warren said Thursday afternoon that Wiggins — who started at Georgia before transferring to Louisville and then started for the Cardinals before transferring to Tennessee — is still “adjusting” to the culture at Tennessee.

Put more simply: Wiggins has more work to do.

“I’ve seen a guy that’s older, a guy that’s been in programs, a guy that’s ahead of the curve with fundamentals and technique,” Warren said. “But I think like any transition, he’s like a rookie coming into learning the style of play here at Tennessee. And I think he is adjusting to our culture here. But I think you have a resource and a guy that’s seen live bullets. He’s been in the fight. So instead of being a freshman who’s trying to learn your culture, you have an older, more-seasoned guy trying to learn your culture.

“And I think when you transforms into the culture and how he plays, then his talent can marry up to allow him to go do that.”

LSU's Lindsey Scott Jr. plans to transfer

Quote
LSU football team’s quarterback depth took a hit Monday when redshirt freshman Lindsey Scott Jr. announced his intent to transfer.

In making the decision, Scott became the second quarterback and 11th overall player to transfer from LSU since Ed Orgeron took over as full-time coach. Brandon Harris was the other quarterback to do so. But more than any other transfer, Scott’s decision has consequences that could affect LSU for years to come.

LSU has four scholarship quarterbacks remaining. One is senior Danny Etling, the team’s presumed starter for 2017. Another is sophomore Justin McMillan, who took a redshirt in 2015 and played in one game in 2016.

The other two guys are Myles Brennan and Lowell Narcisse, both of whom are freshmen. With Scott on the roster, LSU could’ve had the luxury of redshirting both Brennan and Narcisse and saving them for the post-Etling era in 2018. But saving both of those guys without Scott means relying entirely on Etling and McMillan.
