Former UG DB Chad Clay tentatively disputes details that led to his dismissal

Coach Kirby Smart dismissed Clay from the team in late June after he was arrested for allegedly stealing headphones from a fellow student at the Ramsey Center. Clay was also arrested in April on two felony charges involving the use of a BB gun in a dorm room.

On Monday, Clay disputed those details of his latest arrest in a post on his Twitter account that was deleted later in the day.



Smart chose not to dismiss defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter and sophomore cornerback Juwuan Briscoe who had their own run-ins with the law in the spring.

Clay came to Georgia as a 3-star recruit from Peachtree Ridge.
