The 4-star offensive lineman from Cedar Grove, who pledged to the Crimson Tide in June, says fans shouldn't be worried about him getting cold feet.

"I've had a few fans say, 'Decommit,' because I like other schools," Johnson said jokingly. "I know that I'm 100-percent committed to Alabama. Just because I go to other schools and I look around, that doesn't mean nothing to me."

The other two, though, are Auburn and UGA.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound lineman says both programs offer him an opportunity to play with some of the country's elite recruits. Auburn specifically, though, could give him a chance to play with several of his current teammates.

Players like 4-star defensive lineman Antwuan Jackson, 3-star linebacker Elysee Mbem-Bosse and 4-star cornerback Tre Shaw are each considering Auburn.

Johnson told SECCountry.com that he may attend Auburn's game against Mississippi State this weekend.

Johnson is rated as the No. 12 player in Georgia for 2017 (maybe ever).

Three-star Lafayette High School quarterback Walker Wood announced his intention to play for his hometown team an hour before kickoff. After receiving a scholarship offer from UK during the bye week, Wood wasted no time making a decision.

"I went over to the facilities with my mom and dad this week, and I just loved the coaching staff over there," Wood said in an interview with The Courier-Journal. "I really just didn't focus on thinking about it too much. I just let my gut make the decision. I felt Kentucky was the right place for me."

Wood chose Kentucky over scholarship offers from Louisville and Cincinnati. He is ranked as the No. 14 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2017 and the No. 2 junior prospect in Kentucky...

"They've given me the opportunity to go in and compete at the quarterback spot," Wood said. "That's my goal, and I'm going to work my butt off to go and do that."

There will be no shortage of competition at quarterback for Kentucky when Wood arrives on campus.

Current redshirt freshman quarterback Drew Barker is still waiting to make his collegiate debut after losing the starting job to junior Patrick Towles in preseason camp. Barker would be a junior during Wood's freshman season. Current UK sophomore quarterback Reese Phillips would be a senior in the fall of 2017.

Kentucky also has secured a commitment from three-star quarterback Gunnar Hoak in the 2016 class and three-star quarterback Mac Jones in the 2017 class.

"I think competition is good," Wood said. "It will make me better. Whoever I'm competing with, I embrace competition, and I'm ready to work."

Kentucky's 2017 class is currently ranked ninth nationally by the 247Sports Composite ranking, which averages the ratings of the four major recruiting services. Wood is the first Kentucky high school player to join the five-man class.

Henry Clay's Robinson 'fully committed' to Kentucky football

Henry Clay defensive back Davonte Robinson announced Sunday that he is closing his recruitment and is "fully committed" to the University of Kentucky.

Robinson — a 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback — originally committed to UK last October and was one of the first members of the Wildcats' recruiting class of 2016. He later received heavy interest from Ohio State, Notre Dame, Alabama and several other major schools.

Notre Dame was scheduled to host Robinson for an official visit Saturday night for its home game against Southern Cal, but Robinson cancelled that trip...

John Franklin III put up a monster performance in what was likely his last game of the season, and earned an offer from Auburn the next day.

EMCC was then removed from the MACJC playoffs because of a bench-clearing brawl. But the 6-foot, 183-pound Franklin made the most of his performance in front of Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, and earned an offer on Friday.

"After the game, (Lashlee) talked to my coaching staff and my coaches said they were going to offer me," Franklin said. "I talked to him late last night after they got out of meetings."

Franklin started his career at Florida State, playing the role of former Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall on the scout team prior to the FSU-Auburn BCS national championship game in Jan. 2014.

"They say they're missing a run game at the quarterback position and that's what they think I can bring," Franklin said. "At least with Cam Newton and Nick Marshall, that's what they're missing at the position and I feel like I'd be a great fit in their offense."

Franklin, whose only other offer right now is Buffalo, said that the Tigers are atop his list.

The 4-star receiver told SEC Country he would reschedule the visit to Knoxville but wasn't sure of the date. Anderson said "family issues" caused the postponement. The prospect from DeSoto High School (DeSoto, Texas) committed to LSU in August. The 6-foot-4, 177-pound prospect is slated to take an official visit to Boise State on Nov. 14.

The Crimson Tide has yet to extend a scholarship offer to Jones, a 3-star receiver from Saraland High (Saraland, Ala.).
