Defensive Front

I noticed, mainly in the second half, that our front 4 were lining up at the LOS with about 2 yards between each player. On some plays, it looked as though they were lined up from the right has to the left hash.

I'm not an X's and O's guy, so maybe this is the scheme that we run....but it looked to me like there were gaping holes for the Auburn RB's to run through before the ball was snapped. What were we trying to do?

Help me understand...
