Bama is better than many of the posters on here think.

I have seen them play and they are VERY impressive. They should be a legitimate contender for the SEC West. Can they beat out LSU and Auburn? Hard to say, but no reason why they can't.

Hogs have a chance if they can:

1) Show some drastic improvement on special teams, in punt returns, punting, kickoff returns, field goals, etc.

2) Win the turnover battle.

3) Win the battle at the line of scrimmage, especially on defense.

Bama is not USC, but they are not overrated, and Hogs will be in for a real fight.

I used to post on Bama Board back in those days and there was nothing but manlove for Fran in the two years that he was at Bama.  I was careful to never say anything negative about him because if you blasphemed Fran in those days, you would be subjected to a cyber-lynching by the entire Bama Board.

I remember a popular sig line in those days was a picture of Bear leaning against a goalpost, watching the team warm up next to a picture of Fran doing the same thing, thus symbolizing that "The Football Messiah has returned".

We "could" beat anyone.  Anything "could" happen.  I don't think many Oregon State or UCLA fans thought they "could" beat USC a year ago, but they did.
There are two ways to have fun being a fan:
1. Have fun thinking anything is possible, and hold out hope for every game. 
2. Have fun thinking you are the smartest fan in the world and challenging everyone else's hope that we can win simply because you think it is only "intelligent" to believe certain victories are possible.

First of all, Bama is overrated.  How's that?  For that fact, along with the fact that we usually play close games and our young team continues to improve, we can keep it tight against you.  Also, it is the SEC opener, so everyone wants to play well.  Against USC, however?  Right now we've proven we can't run with them.  But who truly can?
