This:

QuoteYou want a disadvantage to lay on Arkansas? They don't have near the game day motivator on the sidelines now as they've had in the past.

Is just idiotic.  That's a good thing.  Our coach now doesn't have to get our team all hyped up to beat opponents.  All he has to do is put in an effective gameplan and have the players execute.  That's what I love about Petrino.

pitbull1

They were talking about the bowl games, conference championships and National Champions that they have won.  Don't they realize that it is ancient history.  They have won anything in a long time!!

Hogwildandwired

They had a thread in one of those i posted that said" Paul bear bryant would be 95 today" talk about stuck in the past

Exactly why I hate bama fans.  They are cocky, and just plain stupid.

Spain used to win a lot of wars, but oh how the landscape has changed around them.  Exploring and plundering are at all-time lows, and their last few leaders aren't even worth mentioning.  They have a proven winner at the helm now, but it'll never be "like it was."

This is a game we must win.  It is a game we can win and it is so important to get off to a good start in conference play.  Plus it is always fun to beat Bama.

No matter what happens, you can tell they know what is coming.  They know in a year or two Petrino WILL have his team in place and it will be lights out.  I'm pulling for us to win as always, but if we dont', Bama better enjoy it because it's temporary.
GO HOGS!!

I've noticed how on every other fan wesite they refer to us as "Arky"..... that kinda pi$$es me off a little bit.

Hard to believe we had such a good home record in the Hootie era.

Living in Jackson, I run into quite a few Bama fans and when I tell them I'm from Arkansas their first response is, "Do you know where Fordyce is?" They really think that Fordyce is the Mecca! My best friend here is a huge Bama fan and he really does believe that the Hogs are going to win the game next Saturday, one reason being the off-week we are getting.

I'm surprised we are taking 3 days off before the Bama game. I thought we'd use that time to prepare more for the Tide.

Their arrogance is mind-boggling.

It really is...  My blood pressure is going to stay up for the next two weeks now that we've moved Texas...  Those two clubs are about as arrogant as they come.

Who cares about Bucktoothed inbred BAMA!
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Did I just see a Bama fan that said they wanted to face us after "Texas roughed us up?" Shouldn't Texas be saying thank goodness they'll be roughed up by an SEC foe before we play them. I thought Bama had more stones then that.

I miss living in Arkansas but living in Alabama has had its advantages the last couple of years.

JimmyJames

I live in Alabama too and I don't see any advantages at all.  Listening to these people in Birmingham you would think the Tide has already won this year against the Hogs and they're pretty sure they've won the next 5 games against us too.  I would much rather be around a texas fan any day than a bama.

HighcountryHog

They act as if they just came from a National Championship.  last I checked, Bama, that saga was still ongoing 25 years later.

We just beat the team that Bama failed to beat last year - at home too.
Also Nutt failed to beat Bama at their place last year even though later
he said he could have scored 50 points on Bama.  Then why didn't he?

Didn't bama win a championship under Gene Stallings in the late 90's

I'm with you Jimmyjames.  I've lived in Bama now for 5 years, born and raised Arkansas.  Bama fans are unbelievable at times.  It's like having a child that the parents think can do no wrong. NO matter what Bama does, it's OK, we are Bama and we can do what we want kind of B.S.   I hope the Hogs dominate them.  I have a huge Razorback on my back window, that get's me alot of finger conversations. LOL.
GO HOGS!!

sirhog

If bama wins one or 2 games to start the season, their fans think they are going to win the national championship. All the bama fans that I have met are smug and unrealistic in their expectations. Plus them and tenn are the biggest cheaters in the conference.

toozakpig

I just smiled when I read this stuff. I would not be surprised if BP does not use this as "motivational" material!

Bama's record in DWRRS:  4 losses, 1 win.

To be technical, they have actually beat us twice in Fayetteville (94, 02) and we are 0-2 against them in LR (92, 96).

So for those keeping score at home:

LR: 0-2
Fayetteville: 4-2
Tuscaloosa: 4-4
New Orleans (Sugar): 0-2

8-10 Overall

Are you counting the forfeited victory over Bama in 1993 when they killed us 43-3 or something like this?

The point still remains, except for the pre SEC days and first few years of SEC, Bama ain't got sh*t on the Hogs as far as head to head competition.

Hog Nutt

Arkansas is still suffering from the 1969 loss that Texas put on them. They;ve had a complex about it after all these years.

That one cracked me up........Should we tell'em Bear Bryant has past-away??

The forfeited loss in Bama is reflected in my "w" column. With the forfeit, we are 8-10 all time.

But, the first two losses were Sugars and pre-SEC. The way I see it, including their forfeit, we are 8-8 in SEC play so I'm not sure why Bama feels so cocky. They are .500 against us in SEC play.

Hog Nutt

This one made me faint....

I'll take an organized coach who prepares a team during practice and has a solid gameplan over a coach who cheerleads ANYDAY

Taint, this is a good point.

You can say that Arkansas has an over all (from 1894 to now) better program than Kentucky, but our head to head against Kentucky leaves with no reason to talk crap to Kentucky.
Just the same:
Alabama, no doubt has a better over all program than Arkansas, BUT, head to head the last 13 years have been about dead even, so Bama fans need to STFU.

I was at that loss in 2002 when Sherman Williams I believe ran the first play up the middle for a 70 yard plus touchdown.  I thought we were headed for a great year and then that game happened!  Of course the game in 1998 was awesome1

Arkansas won in Fayetteville in 1998, 2004, and 2006.

bigheadred

I like this fact. It might put them on edge even more playing in Fayetteville. They could turn the ball over alot. We could have the advantage here. This is just what we need more time to improve the defense and people coming off injuries on defense. I like our chances against Alabama.
