Quote from: Dr. Starcs on April 21, 2024, 11:38:34 amThose all could be true, but one for sure wanted more nil. Maybe the others too.

Taliah Scott not wanting to be coached is not a true statement. I know you didn't say it. I'm just setting the record straight. Head at Auburn Johnne Harris is a friend and I know her personally. Players with that mindset will not see playing time and that's a fact.

Quote from: onebadrubi on Today at 06:22:17 amHe needed volume and the be the key ball control guy to run his all about me style.  Him and Ellis didn't understand they had 4 other guys to help them.  That with muss not coaching offense as he does defense made for a mess
As long as I can remember gifted scorers are often described as selfish, as if it would have been better to pass it and let Devo take the shot.  The fact is that Battle didn't need big volume to score a lot.  He was very efficient, got to the line a ridiculous amount of the time.  For instance, against Missouri, he scored 42 points on only 15 shots.

Quote from: bjeffersonhog on Yesterday at 07:47:33 pmWe definitely spent to get those two, and we are towards the top.  Just saying we will see how far the spenders are willing to go if Cal wants one or two that drop out of the draft at the last minute, and all of the other big schools want them as well.

I wonder what you have to spend to get 5 star freshmen? Not  lot of talk about that out there.

I, (like most Hog fans I'm sure) am a huge Peyton Holt fan. He seems like the type athlete Old Hugo Bezdek was talking about when he first mentioned his "Wild Band of Razorback Hogs."  What are his professional prospects after his career here at the U of A? He's certainly a guy I'm giving a shot if I were a big league general manager.

One of the original goals of Title IX was to provide an equal number of athletic scholarships. The problem is it includes football and its 85 scholarships. That's why there are more women's sports than men at most schools and why baseball and track are limited. It's also why university Presidents don't mind limiting football scholarships. Most of you probably didn't need that history lesson but if you want to be really angry look at how a certain executive order is about to change Title IX. With no regard to money making men's sports.

When I finally tuned in to the game it looked like a ghost town in the stands. Thought they had sold out?

Also consider Battle may have decided he didn't want to be talked to like that again.

I think Battle fits much better at K-State or Villanova than at Gonzaga. I'm surprised Few is pursuing him at Gonzaga given Battle's quitting his team during the season in 2022-2023 and the friction last year with Muss.
I wish him well as a former Hog but going to Gonzaga seems like an odd fit.

Kaluma putting up 10 shots a game at 42% and averaging 2.8 turnovers as a 3/4

A big nah from me
I like Pryor or Toppin
Omier would be a big splash

Quote from: Birminghog on Yesterday at 10:35:02 pmThey started Pooser, who started all of the 1st games of a series in April. He pitched 5.1 & threw 100 pitches, 61 strikes & 39 balls.

I'm not familiar with the pecking order of their bullpen, but following are the relievers they used tonight, innings pitched, & pitches thrown (strikes/balls) .
O'Brien - .1 inning, 8 pitches (3/5)
Nove - 1 inning, 29 pitches (19/10)
Robinson - .1 inning, 15 pitches (3/12)
Frieda - 2 innings, 45 pitches (29/16)

For more information, here's the Statbroadcast link: https://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=503988&_gl=1*j8o1a1*_ga*MTkwMzgxODU3Ny4xNzA4NzMxNzg0*_ga_2ZWVK1X7BJ*MTcxNDc3MTI0MC42Ny4xLjE3MTQ3OTMyNzQuMC4wLjA.

O'Brien and Nove would be two of their top five relievers based on the stats as they had five guys all with around 20.o IP entering the weekend and ERAs under 4.  Nove's is no longer under 4 after we got to him last night.
