Playing quality P5's back to back is probably not a good idea to began with, but here are some other  positives for not playing Miami.

Gives them an extra week to focus on areas "exposed" in their first game, like tackling. Reports are they had a very physical, ones-against-ones, practice after they found out they were not playing Miami.

Should be 100% healthy for their next game.

Coaches can use extra time  to "sneak a peak" at an explosive SMU team.

Starting 0-1 is better than 0-2.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

If ASU had beat Nebraska they would be in great position to get the G5 bid this year as they should be favored in every remaining game.
