Most AFSC's and MOS's had a nickname of sorts that the troops with that designation are affectionately (or not) known to their fellow troops by. For instance, I was in Aircraft Weapons aka munitions loader. We lifted things, heavy things like bomb bay doors, bombs and missiles and were always pushing around heavy equipment. Therefore we were known on the flight line as "knuckle draggers or load toads." How about you? Please share, though I know some won't beat the sensor.

The recruiting rankings guarantee success about as well as getting Lee Corso to choose your team as the winner.

I was a 91W, "Health Care Specialist."  Now, 68W.  My infantry platoon referred to me as "Doc."  One of the proudest titles I've ever carried.

Now, I'm an AH-64D pilot, and I'm called "Sir."  Don't really care for it.

Hogville prediction formula:

1.  Insert bad news prediction. A loss, a recruit going elsewhere, a coach leaving, etc.
2.  Tag "hope I'm wrong," on the end.
3a.  Enjoy a correct prediction.
3b.  Act like you're relieved you're wrong and celebrate with everyone else.

Correct you are on being called "Doc". You know you are good at your job and the guys trust you when they give you that title. It is one that is earned and not easily at that. Easily my proudest accomplishment as a "whiskey" myself. I did have the luxury of going from the old-school 91A to 91B to 91W before I got into the "mafia" as we call the world of recruiting. Now I just go by "Top"....or arse-hole, depending on how the day has went.....lol.
My ole buddy Biscuit has crossed that rainbow bridge. Life sure is different without him around.

I was a 3PO51, Security Forces, we referred to each other as "Defender" or "Troop."  I remember when I made Staff (E-5) and the first time I got called "Sarge", in a corny kind of way it was pretty cool. Everyone else on base had more colorful names for us.......

For anyone still going into the gates every day.  The instant you tell that gate guard to "stay dry" (rainy day) or "stay warm" (cold day).  That guard hates your guts and is visualizing your car bursting into flame.

Well my AFSC is 2A3X3. Tactical aircraft maintenance. I've worked the F-15E and F-22. Working on my third airframe here in Korea. F-16. We are affectionately named booger hookers. Pilots typically wear green flight suits and part of our job is to ensure they are strapped in properly. Hence the name booger hooker.
If it turns, burns, banks or rolls, crew chiefs made it happen.

My AFSC is 2T2X1 - Air Transportation.  We basically load/unload planes.  Cargo, passengers, mail, vehicles, etc.  We used to be called the Aerial Port, but now we're classified as a Small Air Terminal.  We're commonly referred to as "Port Dawgs."  We like it.  Just wish we could bring back the red baseball caps.
