Foster, he of the Puig bat flip last night, hits a hanging breaking ball into the Hog Pen.

1-0 LSU.

Laird grounds a single up the middle.  Sciambra scores, but the throw isn't cut off on an offline throw so Laird moves to 2B.

2-0 LSU.

Coach Jorn out to the mound.

Killian getting squeezed pretty tight by this ump.
While it has been a tight zone, it has been fair both ways.

Correct, he's not getting squeezed, they just lay off the pitch 2 balls outside.

ucahogfan

Bregman flies out to Spoon, but Laird tags and moves to 3B because of his speed.

ucahogfan

Hale flies out to Spoon just in front of the track on the first pitch.

Yeah, there hasn't been one pitch today where I have said that is a strike and Killian got squeezed like I have the first two games, but the ump isn't giving anything just off the plate.

Serrano runs the count full (strike 2 has been a ball the entire game), and goes down swinging on a very similar pitch.

ucahogfan

Benintendi grounds out 6-3 as Bregman was shading him to pull.

Nah, strike 2 ran across the plate, strike 3 that Joe swung on was running inside and would have been ball 4. This kid has great movement, going to have to hit a mistake.

southarkhog06

what a time for blue to start giving the strike off the plate, sheesh

ucahogfan

Stevenson lines one right at Nomura who knocks it down, but Stevenson's speed allows him to get an infield single.

ucahogfan

Chinea flies out to Serrano and foolishly gave a little bat flip.

Fraley draws a 4 pitch 2 out walk.  The 3-0 pitch was borderline and might have been the first time Killian got squeezed.

It is was of those pitches that could go either way IMO, but had consistently been called a ball so far.  You're right that Godfrey gets tremendous movement on his fastball and our RHHs have swung and missed at a lot of them so far.

ucahogfan

Spoon infield single on a ball hit deep in the hole at SS, but Bregman almost threw him out.

Spoon caught stealing 2-6-3 as LSU pitched out on a hit and run.  Wernes swung at the pitch 2 feet off the plate.

SPAL

I KNOW he missed that one. He dove around the tag. That was a missed call.

Bernal works the count full, and he chases ball 4 at his ankles on a 10 pitch AB.

Sure seems like Bernal has left several on this week.
Yep, one thing I have noticed with several of our veterans is that it seems like they really press with runners on base and lose their plate discipline and start chasing bad pitches.

I was thinking he left the bases loaded twice against SEMO.

ucahogfan

Laird grounds into a 6-4 FC on a softly hit ground ball.  Laird had just a little too much speed to turn the DP.

ucahogfan

Bregman drops a double pretty much right on the RF foul line on a hit and run.  Laird score with ease.

3-0 LSU.

Bregman caught stealing 2-5.  It was a close play and Bregman is arguing.  Looking at the replay, Wernes blocked the bag and didn't allow Bregman to slide in.

I was just watching the Mizzou/SC game on the SEC Network Alternate channel and SC's infield grass looks terrible.

Bregman totally looked safe to me. Lol glad we got that call.
