SIAP Redshirt Rule

Basically they are hoping and they assume that freshmen can play in up to 4 games whether non conference or conference and keep their redshirt.

I think it's a case of have your cake and eat it, too.

If a freshman can play 4 games and still redshirt, you're in effect giving him 5 (FIVE) years to play. The rule was always 5 to play 4.

I think it's good for an upperclassman who gets injured (even a freshman) but the medical hardship rule covers that.

IMO it should be five to play five, no redshirts of any kind, even medical.

Ant student athlete should have his/her degree within five years.

To go 5 for 5 you would have to raise the 85 limit to over 100 to compensate for the extra players.

So basically everyone is like a medical redshirt now.
