HOG CALLS : Battle's dismissal shakes up depth at linebackeron
2009.07.01They won't have an official practice until August, but already it seems Razorback incoming freshmen linebackers Austin Moss of Rockwall, Texas and Terrell Williams of Tulsa's Union High have received battlefield promotions.
Monday's dismissal of sophomore backup middle linebacker Khiry Battle from the team by Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino would seem to put Moss and or Williams that much closer to an active role for 2009.

COLBY BERNA : Berna had no doubt he would be a Hogon
2009.07.01Colby Berna vividly recalls the day he became an Arkansas Razorbacks fan.
"It was the Arkansas-Tennessee game when I was in fourth grade," Berna said. "Clint Stoerner hit Anthony Lucas to win the game. It really stuck with me. After that game, I fell in love with the Razorbacks."

Returning Players, Influx Of Coaching Talent Should Help SEC Basketballon
2009.06.30Arkansas coach John Pelphrey remembers hearing talk that Southeastern Conference basketball was down last fall. He figured it was just idle chatter, taking up airwaves and Internet bandwidth until league play began.
Certainly, Pelphrey figured, the SEC would at the very least redeem itself in the postseason. This was a league that had sent at least six teams to the NCAA Tournament eight of the previous nine years. -=-
