NY Times - The Quad Countdown: No. 49 Arkansas on 2009.07.19 In the season finale, the Razorbacks beat L.S.U. by 31-30, giving the program back-to-back victories over the Tigers. I dare you to watch the clip from that game and not get giggly about the coming college football season. I watched it and giggled like a schoolgirl. -=- READ MORE... (Link opens in a new window)
THE LAST WORD: Too Many Factors Keep Coaches From Committing for Life on 2009.07.19 When Bobby Petrino told a national blogger earlier this year that he âneeded to make Arkansas my last job,â Razorback fans likely wanted something more definitive about their head football coachâs loyalty to the state university and its football program. Something like, âArkansas is my last stop.â
What he said is all heâs going to give them, though.

BTS Previews: The SEC is still king on 2009.07.17 For my tastes, no photo will ever capture the intensity, passion and fury of Southeastern Conference football any better than Steve Cannonâs shot of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, taken during last yearâs 45-15 pummeling of Florida State. Though it was taken during a nonconference game, albeit a bitter rivalry nonconference game, the photo encapsulates what makes the SEC so thrilling, where the countryâs best collection of athletes swap paint each week in front of the gameâs most rabid fans. -=- READ MORE... Razorbacks RB Green remains in NCAA limbo on 2009.07.16 Arkansas head football coach Bobby Petrino is playing the waiting game like everyone else concerning running back Broderick Green's eligibility.
There is no word yet from the NCAA on whether the junior transfer will be eligible or have to sit out this fall after exiting Southern Cal to return to his home state and become a Razorback in the spring semester.
"I'm eager to get the answer. I can't tell you I'm not, because I really am," Petrino said.

BAZZEL: Hogs Fit the SEC Just Right on 2009.07.15 Itâs always interesting to hear the debate and discussions about how tough the Arkansas Razorbacksâ Southeastern Conference football schedule is and whether or not the Razorbacks would be a better fit in the Big 12 Conference. Thatâs really an easy one for me and always has been. Having grown up in SEC country in Panama City, Fla., and having experienced the old Southwest Conference days as a player, it is a no-brainer. -=- READ MORE... (Link opens in a new window)

Tyler Wilson Views Last Seasonâs Setback Now as Positive on 2009.07.13 Tyler Wilson now knows how to spot a blessing in disguise.
Wilson learned the looks of one last year after a severe case of mononucleosis derailed what began as a promising freshman season at Arkansas. The NCAA granted Wilson a medical redshirt waiver, so the disappointment of missing the final two-thirds of the 2008 season was tempered a bit.

'Showtime' for the Petrinos on 2009.07.13 Itâs probably best to consider 2008 a sneak preview of the Arkansas offense envisioned by Razorback coach Bobby Petrino.
Arkansas never really achieved what Petrino, his coaches, players or Arkansas fans expected on offense last season. âShowtimeâ â as labeled by Petrino and his brother/offensive co-ordinator Paul Petrino â was never featured at Razorbacks games in 2008.
All Eyes on Ryan Mallett: After Waiting for Year, Hogs Unveil Their Big-Time Arm at Quarterback on 2009.07.11 Mallett, a sophomore who sat out last season after transferring from Michigan, possesses an unflappable nature â his âswaggerâ as teammates label it â which might be his greatest asset, even greater than Mallettâs already legendary arm strength. -=- READ MORE... HOG CALLS : Battle's dismissal shakes up depth at linebacker on 2009.07.01 They won't have an official practice until August, but already it seems Razorback incoming freshmen linebackers Austin Moss of Rockwall, Texas and Terrell Williams of Tulsa's Union High have received battlefield promotions.
Monday's dismissal of sophomore backup middle linebacker Khiry Battle from the team by Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino would seem to put Moss and or Williams that much closer to an active role for 2009.
